Hello evga members, im new here but have some questions to ask. I have a 3090 ftw 3 that ive had for some time. Its been perfect for a long time. Suddenly about a month ago i started to get issues where the pc screen would either freeze or go completely black and then I would have to manually turn off and sometimes it would reboot on its own. But it got so bad to the point where the pc was no longer able to boot. It would turn on everything seemed normal but there would be no display. I have an extra 3080 and I plugged that in to see if it was the gpu causing the issue which it was. I never changed anything in the system, I reinstalled windows completely and the error still occurs. The 3090 is the thing causing the issue and I am certain because I plugged it into my test bench and it was causing the shutting down issues on that system too. In event viewer for windows I get a critical level error kernel-power event id 41, task category 63. This is in fact being caused by the gpu and like I said before I did test and all of this is solved when inserting my 3080. I also uninstalled drivers and reinstalled them and still had same issues.
tried to submit image of the event viewer error, but having troubles getting it to embed. But it is a critical level error kernel-power event id 41, task category 63.
Does getting an rma sound like the plan?
