I bought one of these brand new CPU Coolers to keep my i9-13900k cooled. Even at stock settings for the CPU, I'm getting thermal throttling under stress tests. I find it weird because I'm not seeing these issues with other CPU Coolers, is there a chance I just got a defective one?

radiator and fans are top mounted BTW.

There is a chance of course, but look into it. Have you checked contact with the cold plate and the thermal paste distribution?

What does the CLC software say for the pump speed and such?

Pump speed is at 2700 rpm, and fan speed is at 2500 rpm. Coolant is 27 degrees C, and CPU is 85 degrees C using the Intel Extreme Tuning Utility Stress test.

Have you checked thermal paste contact? The z690 and z790 hold down bracket for the CPU isn’t exactly the greatest in the world, and can cause contact issues.

I'll actually check that tomorrow, as I've typed this, one of the fans included in the clcx actually seized. I'll have to call support in the morning, I had thought I registered the cooler on my account - turns out I never did. It'll be interesting to see how this is handled. There's a reason I always buy EVGA though - so we'll see.
