You’re all probably sick of me posting about this because no one seems to care. I just kinda need to get an idea if this is ever going to be addressed or not.
Basically AVX ratio doesn’t do anything and your CPU will be limited to whatever the SKU limit is (i7K - 5.3; i9K - 5.5; i9KS - 5.6). In Linpack/LinX/Y-Cruncher you can observe this as the chip switching between high clock during SSE loads to the min SKU clock once you hit heavy AVX, or just by simply comparing R23/OCCT SSE to OCCT AVX/AVX2.
If this is never going to be addressed then so be it. Our SSE max OC will basically always be a clock step too high for heavy AVX anyway, but the system just feels a bit broken as it is. I’d almost rather be setting the AVX ratio myself in BIOS just so I know it’s my doing and not some random feature of the board.
Before anyone asks, yes I’ve adjusted everything in the CPU menu, tested guardband, and messed with different Vdroop settings etc etc etc. This just is a thing. It’s very similar to if you guys recall when the 12900K couldn’t do over 5.1G in heavy AVX because of the KS existing and Intel locking it down.
