Howdy all,
I have two systems hooked up to a CKLau-642DP KVM going to two BENQ GL2460 monitors. The KVM will support up to 4 systems going to 2 monitors with DP1.2 video ports in and out. The monitors are connected to the KVM with DP -> DVI cables.
One system is my work laptop connected through a Dell thunderbolt docking station with DP -> DP cables to the KVM. This works fine, I can use both monitors plus the laptop screen with this setup.
The other system is my personal PC in which I just installed an EVGA GTX 1080 FTW ACX 3.0 GPU (PN: 08G-P4-6286-KR) that a friend gave me. I connected it to the KVM with DP -> DP cables but get no display on either monitor. I can connect both monitors directly to the GPU with DP -> DVI cables and they both work just fine. I have done a clean install of the NVIDIA drivers. I checked the resolution (1920x1080 native) and refresh rate (60 Hz) on both monitors while connected directly to the GPU. I have changed the DP cables. I have swapped the ports each computer is connected to on the KVM. I have powered down everything and restarted according to the KVM switch manual (KVM first, then monitors, then computers). Nothing will get the PC with the GTX 1080 to work through the KVM. I can connect the monitors directly to the GPU and use the keyboard and mouse through the KVM so that works. But if I want to use the monitors with the laptop I have to switch cable around each time which defeats the whole purpose of the KVM.
The PC originally had an MSI GTX 970 that I connected to the KVM with two active DVI -> DP cables to the KVM and it worked fine. This GPU only had one DP, one HDMI and two DVI ports which is why I did it that way.
I'm really at a loss at this point. I can't believe there isn't a way to get this to work. I'm trying to communicate with the vendor I bought the KVM through, but they are giving me really basic suggestions which I had already tried to no avail. I'm really hoping someone here will be able to help me get this going.
