New Updates for all Z490 Motherboards today.  Adds PCIe Resizable Bar support:

BIOS 1.10 (E499 DARK/DARK KPE) / BIOS 1.11 (E497 FTW)

  • Adds memory timing PPD

Please note that this BIOS does not support Rocket Lake-S processors.

Windows Installation
  • Download the correct .zip file below for your motherboard:
         131-CL-E499-KP - EVGA Z490 DARK KPE - v1.10
         131-CL-E499-KR - EVGA Z490 DARK - v1.10
         122-CL-E497-KR - EVGA Z490 FTW - v1.11
  • First go into your BIOS and load defaults, save and exit
  • Close all open programs.
  • Go into the folder where you unzipped this package and double-click update.bat
  • Press Y to start the flash process
  • DO NOT TURN OFF POWER OR RESET DURING THE FLASH PROCESS
  • After the flashing is finished, the system will automatically shut down. Then power on again and go into BIOS to setup.
  • NOTE: If flash box immediately closes after flash attempt, the flash may need to be ran from a CMD prompt with administrator privileges or DOS version.

BIOS Installation
  • Extract the contents of .zip file to USB flash drive (must be formatted as FAT32)
  • Reboot the machine and go into the system BIOS
  • From the BIOS, navigate to the Save & Exit tab and open "Select BIOS File."
  • Select the .bin file you wish to flash.

Please let me know if anyone runs into problems with this update.  Thanks!

    Thank you.

But the coil whine came back after the update.
With the stock CPU clock and everything on AUTO, it was using Vcore = 1.297 volts (no whine), now it uses 1.414 volts (whine).

Is the motherboard going to self-adjust the voltage over time and maybe come back to 1.297v?

    -- edit --

    (10070k + EVGA Z490 FTW + PSU Supernova 750 G5)

Weirdly enough, after a couple of reboots it was back to normal, so no more coil whine.
However, I noticed that when I was hitting 1.414 volts the CPU reached 5.0Ghz, now at 1.297v the CPU reach 4.7GHz. Both cases with voltages and core speeds in auto.

i apologize for bumping an old thread.

i notice coil whine on bios switch 1, however, i do not have coil whine on bios switch 2 or 3 with same bios version / settings.

maybe this will help future z490 owners.
