Looks to me based on your photos, like the smaller diameter backplate mount ( https://ibb.co/YhLmfXg ) is Not going into the MB mounting hole -like it should

Spirit_Rises Is this the correct backplate for lga 1700 ?

Yes. Did you actually try mounting the cooler, or are you just seeing this with only the screws installed without the cooler mounted? I believe when I installed my clc 280 it was the same way until I actually mounted the cooler. With only the screws installed to the backplate the backplate wasn’t tight like you said, but once I mounted the cooler everything was nice and tight.

I haven't tried mounting the actual cooler itself yet. Because it just does not feel okay :) the backplate should stay there tight without the cooler am i wrong? the gap is very obvious by the way. i will post a video showing that. edit: uploaded the video https://youtube.com/shorts/OTwJC8Pgl48

I thought it was suppose to stay tight as well, but mine was loose too, but after mounting the cooler there was no movement.

Mounting the cooler/pump should pull tension on the standoffs/backplate and things should pull together nicely, as Sajin said..If after mounting the cooler/pump it's still loose, then there's another problem..My backplate was loose too until I installed/tightened down the cooler/pump.

It's the retention ring that will apply spring pressure to the standoffs/backplate and pull it all together..Make sure the backplate is through all the mobo holes before snugging the screw nuts for the retention ring down..Put it all together like it's supposed to be and roll from there.

Thank all of you guys. As you said it gets tighten when we use the cooler itself. The temps for the 13900k 1.288v 5.6ghz performance cores and 4.6ghz e-cores are around 45 celcius to 57 celcius while 4k gaming.
Battfield 2042 2k gaming sits around 57 - 63 celcius degrees.
Evga clc360mm fans are set to auto.
