I'm experienceing power shutdowns and i think it may have something to do with the power supply in Nepal where I live.I have an inverter and battery set-up to deal with frequent power outages, voltage changes and spikes. I have a new build with the GA650W 80 Plus Gold, MSI Tomohawk B660 MB, i512600, etc. Every once in a while my box just suddenly shuts off and I'm not sure why this is happening. I tried a voltage regulator but it did not work. The shut off seems to happen when there is a change in power supply (the city supply) because the I noticed the lights dimmed and my inverter kicks in. I know that there is a lag time when the the inverter kicks in but I have been using a laptop and a mid tower (low power) office desktop for a long while and never had this problem. The only things I can think of is that the inverter is not fast enough for my current build (the EVGA 650) and the EVGA just shuts off because of this. The otehr thing may be that the voltage changes are greater than +10/-10 that the EVGA is rated for and that may be causing the box to shut off. I'm going to try a UPS system next because I know they have very fast switches but I don't want to waste the money if I can help it. Any helpful ideas would be appreciated. I can't really get my video editng project started until I solve this problem.

You're Uninterruptable Power Supply could very well be the problem, it's not unheard of..Try just plugging the PSU directly into the wall socket and see how it rolls.

I can't disconnect my main inverter and battery system because if I do there are periodic power outages everyday here. My main inverter/battery system is required here. My old low power desktop never had a problem. I was thinking that for this higher power box, it may be that the inverter switch from direct power to battery power isn't fast enough for the EVGA PS in my box. It's just a guess but I could buy a UPS unit with a faster switch to handle it (my inverter is pretty old). It could also be a problem with the EVGA unit itself. I don't know what's going on or how to diagnose the problem.

Do you have another inverter you can try?
