Got an opened Eagle 4080 that was returned due to 'didn't fit in the customers case' for $1200 OTD, but I can't get any video output from it. White LED error code is on VGA on MOBO. I reseated the card and tried again about three more times, still nothing. Installed my 3080 and it's all working. Tried the 4080 one more time and nothing from it. I can return to the store tomorrow, but worried they may have sold out of 4080's already LOL. Whats wrong with my card? I had a modded BIOS on my EVGA FTW3 3080 for 450 watts and Flexible BAR. Or is there some issue with the packaged power connector? I had blue LED 'GIGABYTE' light up on the card and I think the fans do the initial spin up. Thanks in advance

Is the bios on your motherboard up to date? If no, update it. Did you try clearing the cmos on your motherboard after installing the card? If no, give it a shot.

I would make sure all drivers are up to date and windows is also up to date. Then try clearing the bios on the motherboard and make sure not to overclock anything until you know if the card works on default values.
What are the specs of your PC?

I think I changed setting in the BIOS for CSM and maybe fast boot in order to get the GPU BIOS installed. Wondering if this is my issue. I can't find the instructions I used just yet. Pretty sure I was supposed to turn something back on and didn't LOL.

Ok I still can't get it working. Sits with white VGA light on MOBO. I updated my MOBO BIOS, Reset my setttings to factory default in the utility (CMOS reset?). Turned off my overclocking. I see that program that's out for the 4080/4090 that have no display (like mine) but I haven't gotten it to work, yet. My MOBO doesn't have on board graphics and there's no room to fit another card along with this 4080 because it's so big. My setup is an Asus Prime Z570 850w PSU EVGA FTW3 Ultra 3080 with the 450w TDP BIOS/Flexible BAR Trying to get this Gigabyte Eagle 4080 to work My Win11 is all updated

Most likely some vbios/bios compatibility issue if disabling fast boot, and trying with csm enabled or disabled doesn't help. Could be a bad card also, but you'd need to check the card in another known good working system.

I got the solution I think. Try only using two of the 3 8 Pin power connectors on the adapter. I have this card and for some reason when you use 3 8 pins into the adapter it wont display anything or show up in device manager if you have integrated graphics to use. I found this by dumb luck. So try the card with 2 PCIe 8 pins instead of 3.
Note someone on reddit tried a different adaptor and it seemed to work fine with all 3 so the adapter gigabyte used is the likely culprit.

Nice! Now if someone could explain why that is happening? Ha ha ha seems silly why it wouldn’t work with all 3. I want to do a continuity check and see if I can find a problem but I also do t want to keep unplugging the card.

IKR, so funny. Going to be fun to see what comes of the connector issue and BIOS upgrades for this 4080. So happy to get it working and play around with it. Just barely fit in my case, I mean wow it's big

That is indeed a very strange situation since the adapters are all supplied straight from Nvidia and Nvidia's supplier. Also it's always wise to turn off the fast boot crap. I learned that the hard way right after I got my 2070 and found out the RTX cards dislike fast boot being on.

Tried plugging the 3rd 8 pin connector on my 4080, won't boot LOL. Been having fun squeezing performance out of the 4080. I still need to check power draw and clock speeds, having a smal VRel issue.

Sajin Vrel isn’t a problem.
Hey right on, thanks for that. I was seeing some great clock speeds, frame rates and performance so I'm not worried or surprized.
