EVGA designs the best card that we will never have. How many more 4090's is Nvidia not having in gamers hands because these are not available?EVGA made sure it went to gamers and not scalpers.

All that customer care, luxurious warranties, programmes, etc. is reason why EVGA could not continue manufacturing GPUs, it was discussed in many articles.

Other manufacturers save a lot of cash by not having all those things. E.g. I bought 4090 and asked question and mail returned because email box does not exists - this is how you should do business, because GPUs will sell out anyway.

Otherwise I do not see how using thermal putty is cheaping out, for me it does not matter if it is pad or putty or paste, if it is working correctly. And I was very satisfied with 3080 Ti FTW3 Ultra.

Nvidia is a giant and one of the most powerful companies in the world, at this moment worth is 362.02 billion USD!

Second Quarter Fiscal 2023

Gaming revenue was $2.04 billion, down 44% sequentially and down 33% from the prior year.
Data Center revenue was $3.81 billion, up 1% sequentially and up 61% from the prior year.

So EVGA part in those $2.04 billion is almost invisible for Nvidia.
I doubt Nvidia lost a dime when EVGA CEO unplugged the best part of his company.
EDIT:
EVGA peak revenue was $78.8M in 2021.

For any type of business small or large, a loss is a loss. You open a business to make profit not to lose it.
Everyone needs to accept the fact the 4000 series is a catch 22 release period. I find it funny how AMD a smaller profit company compare to Nvidia doesnt run with these type of issues.
Where is the R & D Department for Nvidia?

Those who abuse power, are nothing but scumbags! The challenge of power is how to use it and not abuse it. The abuse of power that seems to create the most unhappiness is when a person uses personal power to get ahead without regards to the welfare of others, people are obsessed with it. You can take a nice person and turn them into a slob, into an insane being, craving power, destroying anything that stands in their way.

Easy answer, they are in accounting trying to figure out how to maximize profits.

Yea I wish we were able to get those, clearly the superior card.

Would love to get my hands on one and get it to the top of 3dMark Benchmark charts :-D

I just saw Jay and Steve's videos, and I was sure to think someone had created a thread about it here.

What a monumental loss. Even though my 3080 10GB is perfectly fine since I only game at near 1440p, I would have most certainly jumped on EVGA's 4090. I like to think that one day in the future both companies may reach an agreement again.

Not going to happen because:
  • Someone has ego much larger than sense (after EVGA peak earnings in 2021 ($78 million) shutting down core GPU production looks like a bad dream).
  • I assume that EVGA great GPU team already disperse looking for a new job. Simply that quality cannot be easily replicated.
  • Honoring 3, 5, or 10 years warranty is a huge burden with depleted manpower and vanishing spare parts

You mean Nvidia clean its act and treat their partners with fairness and respect.
It is truly amazing how many people are so blind they cant even see the obvious of how Nvidia has conducted itself as a company, SMH.
Apparently, people haven't learned anything from EVGA move.

Got it. I am glad i am not part of the group.
Let's see how much profit these 4000 series make compare to the previous gen.

Looks like he will be using it in his E1 EVGA tribute build. Right now he is asking if he should do a custom loop for it or go 100% EVGA parts. I personally don’t mind if he goes a custom loop even though EVGA doesn’t offer them since I know he would build an amazing tribute PC with as many EVGA parts as possible.

I would normally say custom loop for overclock performance (noting that in this build it's only on the CPU), but being that this is an EVGA tribute, my personal decision would be to go for the new EVGA AiO cooler, even though the case gauges provide some of that info anyway.. but it's all EVGA that way. Would be nice if EVGA did a run of DDR5 EVGA branded memory like they did a few years back with DDR4 and DDR3 and sold exclusively at Micro Center. Jay should hunt down some of them and take the EVGA branded heatsinks and put them on some DDR5. :)

With a little bit more hindsight, seeing the 4080 disaster taking place while AMD appears to have market superiority coming for the under $1000 with RNDA 3, makes EVGA look like a genius move on their part to pull out this generation with Nvidia. That 4090 does look sweet, smarter then the other AIBs, more usable for customers but one extreme high end product does not make it a marketing profit when the rest of the lineup appears to be very deficit to the price. Nvidia wanted a 6800 12gb with a different die, memory etc. over their ridiculously priced 6080 16gb version ($1199) for $899! While AMD $900 20gb card looks to be able to beat the 6800 16g in most games. To me it looks like Nvidia went nuts and would be a good time for EVGA to get out from that exposure.

Just checked 4080 availability, Best Buy, New Egg and Micro Center have ZERO cards. All sold out, including 1,3 K, 1,4K even 1,55K AIBS.
4080 resupply always got cleaned up.

As for AMD just wait for reviews other than their PR. Hope, they do not cook the cherry-picked benchmarks as they love to do every time new card is released.

Nvidia is off my purchase list until EVGA makes their cards again. Otherwise I will move to AMD. Nvidia cards are too expensive anyways.

1/4 the supply compared to the 4090 and it took how long to sell out? I say that does not look that good. AMD has been accurate, it has been Nvidia that has some weird benchmarks using DLSS 3.0 vs non. Agree, wait for actual reviews of the AMD RNDA 3 cards.

I guess your local Micro Center got an extyra small shipment. When I saw your post I checked my local store and got this, 31 in stock:

Plus checking New Egg and they have the Zotac model in stock.
4080 is far from sold out and it's amazing considering a lot less 4080 were made available on launch compared to the 4090.

Not sure what you consider extra small shipment.
They had 14 models ranging from 10 to 40 each model.

New Egg have up to six models available but at the end of a day all gone.

Not number of models total number of all 4080's. News outlets reported that total 4080's were a small percentage of total 4090's. (I exaggerated
I don't remember the numbers because I didn't care.

Edit: just checked, it is said that 4080 launch quantities were roughly half of the 4090's

Seeing your search proves that some stores got smaller shipments OR other areas had much less demand.

Both Texas Microcenters had stock of 4080's since launch as of a couple days ago. This is the first time I've noticed the Dallas location sold out of 4080's, but the Houston store has kept stock since launch. Which makes it the first GPU to launch and not sell out in what, half a decade with the 2080 Ti series? I think even the AMD 5000-series cards sold out at launch.

The 4080 has been readily available here in Canada (Canada Computers, Memory Express, BB Canada, Newegg - sold out) unlike the 4090s, which is still out of stock ever since the launch. Yeah, not a great launch for the 4080s because of the price.

I just checked two good PC suppliers here in the uk and one has 14 and the other has 12 different makes of 4080 in stock.
I will keep my 3090ftw, if Evga had made a 4090ftw available then i too would have purchased it, plus I would have purchased an Optimus ftw block.

But who knows what is happening behind closed doors, maybe Evga are working on Gpu's with a new partner (fingers crossed).

RIP EVGA...
Within 2 years or so EVGA will be out of business.

EVGA used to be a great company (I've been a customer since early 2005). But after 2017 it went completely downhill. EVGA doesn't treat customers as customers, but as complete idiots! I used to own over 30 EVGA products (videocards, motherboards, PSU's and so on). Not anymore. #evga #pathetic

Ah the PCB Date reads 2224, means this card was made in year 2022 during week 24
Scroll to 15:38 to see the card's PCB date:

Here some pics I took of that moment:

1st pic is of how it was shown in the video, 2nd pic is when I flipped it 180 degrees making it upright:

Not sure how early this is tho, as this seems more like a Beta board over an Alpha one.
