So my previous thread was that the thing wouldn't even come out of idle mode, well it does now (I literally didn't even do anything) and I have audio with it but no video. It appears in OBS with a black screen, but not the "No video" pop-up. Replugging doesn't do anything, updated OBS, XR1 lite is up to date on firmware.

Edit: Possibly fixed, was an OBS issue with an overloaded encoder due to using AMD's instant replay feature.

Can you please provide a screenshot of your OBS scene setup and one with the video capture device properties open?

Thank you for that. What is the device you're attempting to capture from? If it's a game console like a Playstation or Xbox, did you make sure you disable HDCP or use a device to strip the HDCP signal? Typically HDCP will stop an image from displaying if it detects a capture device and needs to be disabled in one form or another to pass the video signal. Also try deactivating and reactivating the capture device, to see if this helps sync the signal.

It was working before without me touching the HDCP key, but I tried it and it didn't work, if it matters it's a Nintendo Switch. Deactivating and reactivating also did nothing, it worked with these settings a week ago.

    Hello,

It appears that a recent switch system software update may have changed something. We released an update for the XR1 Lite to fix and issue with Nintendo Switch which you can find at https://forums.evga.com/XR1-lite-Firmware-Update-10272022-m3583554.aspx

Thank you for that. Have you been able to try connecting any other device to see if you can get input from another console or source? If you cannot get any output from another source, I would recommend contacting our support team at [link=mailto:support@evga.com,]support@evga.com[/link] to start a warranty request.

It randomly began to work again yesterday, and attempting to use it today it once again gave me a black screen, not even a "no video" prompt. After a restart, it decided to work again, so I have a hunch that the drivers may be failing when my computer is on for too long. I had a similar issue in the past with a drawing tablet. Do you know what the service name for the driver is so I could restart it without rebooting my computer every time?

Okay, I sincerely don't know what the heck is up with this thing because it just seems to work whenever it feels like it. This time it wasn't working, and a restart did not fix it. I tried going to device manager to disable/enable it, but nothing. I Unplugged and replugged USB-C and HDMI, but still, nothing, replaced HDMI, nothing. Restarted after replacing HDMI and it finally begins to work.

One thing I should note that is when it isn't working, the screen is just black, even when the HDMI cord is removed. It does not say "No Video", it simply displays a blank output.

Thank you for the troubleshooting so far! When you are not getting video, can you please open the Windows Camera, choose the XR1 as a camera, and see if you are getting video through there? If so, this is likely an issue with your OBS settings, otherwise we will likely need to look into warranty options for the XR1.

Okay, I think I might've fixed it for good. I hope. After the oddities I'm having with OBS not reading an input I turned my suspicion to it instead, since even when the card was unplugged it did not give me the "No Video" screen. After some OBS troubleshooting later, I had an encoder overload which I pinned on the AMD recording software. I like to have my instant replay clips but it's very stressful on the card (idles at like 70% usage yeesh). Flicked it off and restarted OBS and my capture was once again working. For now, I'm going to assume that was the problem source.
