I'll be honest, that video is a slight exaggeration on the 4090 size. Yes the FE version is big but it's a manageable size. It's the AIB cards that are going overboard on the cooling systems. I've seen the Gigabyte model and it's just as stupidly oversized as the ASUS model. In a age where coolant manufacturers have been able to design systems that can cool powerful hardware like laptops and consoles with a much smaller cooler footprint it makes what these AIBs are doing look so stupid.

The extra cooling is always welcome imo. I find the size of the cards funny, and awesome at the same time.

I don't doubt the extra cooling is welcomed however I feel we may start seeing AIBs really overthinking and over engineering the cooling systems for the entire 40 Series.

Don’t see a problem with that. I run a open air test bench, so space is a non issue for me.

Nvidia 4090 FE is SMALLER than 3090.

Now, AIBs can add a car radiator but FE is what I am looking as size parameter.

Yes & No. It’s smaller in length, but thicker in height.

    Well, it is shorter in length 9mm - 304mm (3090 313mm)
    Width is 1mm wider - 138mm (3090 137mm)
In my books 9mm beat 1mm

Yeah it's getting a bit ridiculous the size these things are coming too. Luckily the PCBs are still very small so slapping a block on them will make them more manageable.

At some point we need to see more water cooled and AIO options from the AIB's.

cpu: Intel 12900k-EK Quantum Magnitude waterblock
    mobo: Asus z690 Apex
    ram: G.skill DDR5 @ 6000+.
gpu: MSI 4090 Suprim Liq x on EK-Quantum Vector² Trio ABP waterblock
    ssd: Samsung m.2 980 Pro 2TB (x2)
psu: beQuiet Dark Power Pro 1500w
    case: Lian-li o11d xl

Looking at the AIB models (and even the FE to some extent due to the connector and connector position), One of the biggest issues I see for air cooled variants is that you can't fit it in any normal case and fit your side panel on. They stick up 1-4 inches past the PCIe brackets...then have connectors facing the glass/side panel. Then you often have that adapter which you can't just kink 90°. Even if you can fit the length in your case, I don't see most cases fitting the side panel on. Maybe this is the plan all along considering most closed cases struggle with a 3080's heat, let alone 3090ti or 4090 now. So they just force you to take off the side panel.

Anyway, I wouldn't consider one of these unless it either comes with a water block or a warranty that lets me put one on...and I don't know any other vendors than the one that just left the game...that allow you to do that.
