So I bought and use a XR1 Lite to capture MiSTer FPGA gaming footage. MiSTer is basically a small form computer that emulates retro gaming systems on a hardware level. I natively outputs HDMI and analog signals and can be set for a ton of resolutions and scaling options.
I have my mister set to output 1080p and in OBS have my base canvas and output set to 1080p, when capturing mister the video quality looks fantastic and audio is fine but while im capturing if I switch systems (cores) while capturing it introduces an audio delay.

Example.... I fire up MiSTer and OBS and start capturing a Nintendo game, If I switch to a Super Nintendo games it will add about a half of second of audio delay, If I then switch to another system and game it adds even more audio delay. The more I switch systems/games the more audio delay stacks and gets worse.

Ive been told avermedia and elgato users never experienced this problem.
At this point im not sure if its the XR1 Lite, Firmware, a windows setting, OBS, or what.

You can see an example of the issue on this video

Any suggestions?

EDIT+++ I have a video on youtube showing the issue but Im not allowed to post links

This isn't something that we've test with so not sure what could cause this. We haven't had any issues with the current standard main stream consoles.

I got this capture card 2 weeks ago and I noticed I'm experiencing this as well with standard main stream consoles. It really does not have anything to do with OP's device.
I have not tested with the device mentioned here, but it's an issue I'm also experiencing with other streaming setups if you use an HDMI matrix or switch.
My Nintendo Switch, PS5 and Wii U are all connected to one HDMI matrix that has a single HDMI out running into the capture card, when I switch consoles, it loses a signal for a brief moment and that's where it causes the video/audio desync. Allow me to elaborate:

When XR1 Lite loses a signal, the capture card still keeps the audio capture intact, while it dropping the frames. This eventually will add up to a significant delay.
I also have Blackmagic Intensity Pro and Elgato HD60S+, but they fix this problem by inserting blank frames. I heard some other capture card sends out "no signal" frame instead as well.

My return window is ending soon and I was wondering if you guys could fix this via a firmware update?

Generally speaking putting any device in between the xr1 and the video source can cause issues and it is strongly recommended to have the source plugged directly to the XR1 to avoid any issues.

Appreciate the response, but I'm not quite satisfied that you dodged the main question regarding on the problem no other competing capture cards have as they add add blank frames for cases just like this.
Even without any device between XR1 (Lite) and the video source, the original poster is clearly having issues without one as well.

It does feel like a terrible oversight and lack of experience in the market seems to have contributed to this issue.
Do you guys have any plans on fixing this problem via a firmware update?

I had this problem last night. After about three hours of streaming my Switch through OBS with my XR1 Lite, the audio delay suddenly started. It seemed like it was delayed by a full second for me.

Edit 1: After another test stream, it seems to start being noticeable around maybe 30 minutes to an hour. As a workaround, turning on "Listen to this device" in Windows' sound control panel seems to work fine. I'm still testing this, though. If you use this method, you can set the volume level for the capture card in Windows' audio mixer.

A fix I found is to use the XR1 Lite's audio through Audio Input Capture on OBS and the audio doesn't get delayed overtime. Don't know how long this will last but so far it seems to be doing the trick!

Here is the link to the updated firmware: https://www.evga.com/EVGA/GeneralDownloading.aspx?file=XR1Lite_1466_0501_M0_09.0A_EVGA update.zip

You can also find it on our Download page under the XR1 lite and selecting firmware as your device.

So I just started experiencing this issue as well. I downloaded the firmware update but the issue still persists. I am capturing my PS5 on OBS and am streaming the preview window to discord (not sure if this is important but wanted to mention this just in case). In OBS I have tried using [Properties > Audio Output Mode > Capture Audio Only] and I have tried [Properties > Audio Output Mode > Use Custom Audio Device > Audio Device > HDMI (EVGA XR1 Lite Capture Box Audio)] but as I continue playing, the audio gets progressively delayed for both audio settings. This issue still persists even when I change the audio delay in the OBS advanced audio settings. Am I missing something here? I am losing my mind here. Help :(

I've noticed that after the firmware update, the audio delay was fixed only with NV12. If you use YUY2 the delay still isn't fixed.

Hmm, I tried changing these settings on my PS5. I think it's locked to YUY? I even set it to 1080p and the audio delay still happened. I'll continue testing things out and update this thread if anything changes.

Probably should've clarified that I was talking about the video format of the XR1 Lite on OBS.

No worries! Are these settings in Settings > Advanced > Video > Color Format? If so, it's already on NV12.
Or is it somewhere in Sources > Properties > ???. I can't seem to find options for NV12/YUY2 anywhere else.
    Appreciate the replies

You're welcome! If you got delay with NV12 then you could maybe try if YUY2 gets audio delay as well for you. Also one other solution is to add XR1 Lite's audio separately as audio input capture on OBS, that seems to have no delay for me.

You're a genius! Separating the audio worked. I've been playing for about 4 hours now with no issues. Thanks for the help

I just got a XR1 Lite and I'm experiencing the audio delay issues described here.

I've already tried updating the firmware, but after doing that the option for YUY2 in OBS disappeared.

I have also tried making a separate audio input capture as discussed by limea and Taterdragon, but that doesn't seem to work either.

Hi, I've been struggling with this audio issue and the firmware didn't fix it. Neither did separating the audio source. Are there any updates regarding this issue? Nothing I've tried is working.

How did you go about splitting the audio? I have tried but my stream PC doesn't see it as being an audio source.
