Is there a pre-order date that can be shared for the Z790 Dark?  A lot of us have the 13900K on pre order for shipping on October 20th.  We just need to know if we will be able to order the Z790 Dark to arrive about the same time we get our CPU's.  So we aren't sitting on CPU's and no board.

EVGA almost never does pre-orders. The final z790 Dark may launch with the CPU’s since Kingpin and EVGA typically don’t show off the boards until they are near ready.

The dark boards are always made in much more limited quantities, so keep your eye on the website during the CPU launch, and also follow JacobF on twitter.

We have seen pics of EVGA mobo's in the past before release...Then taking 2+ months for launch. I don't see this coming out by Oct 20th at all.

Would be unfortunate to not be able to have it at the same time as the cpu. Would likely drive me to get something else.

Got a tweet from Jacob.  To be determined if there will be a pre-order and if it will be available by the 20th.  Said most likely not.

Possibly a blessing in disguise as it gives everyone time to see how the new CPU performs out in the wild before making a commitment.

That is what I am waiting for as well....I'm very interested in the 7950x but want to see how the 13900k(s) does before committing to it.

Good luck guys! EVGA current is not like before, once they released it then less than a year the new chipset version comes out…I had been waiting for Z690 Dark but could not wait then purchased the Classy just couple months ago less than haft year now Z790 out , so sad !always later than their competitors ( I got no choice because I had the 12900k for a year can’t return , after purchased the Classy a few months then its price drops in haft damn ) . I suggest you wait once Dark/Classy come out first then purchase CPU otherwise you will be said as I … lol

Hmm, this is actually the only weakness/and a strong side at the same time of EVGA. Release of their boards is always past release date of new CPU's.

Aren't You guys @EVGA losing clientele this way?

uplink_svk your last question is very silly ;) You apparently do not know the company's strategy, it is better to do better than everyone, but later, than badly, but before everyone else.
People who value innovation and quality can always wait a little ;)

Oh please, do enlighten us, how it works great for EVGA to release a product that will generationally run out of life proper to its relase date.

No, it's not a great idea to wait 3 - 6 months with a product release past its global/other manufacturers release at a half-yearly rate of innovation. Au contraire, it's a really, really bad idea. A month is okay, 3 or more is close to a marketing disaster and a product suicide.

E.g. the only reason why and how I've gotten my hands on Dark KP is, because the previous motherboards from other manufacturers were an utter disaster [I'm looking at You Asus, with Your Extreme [inferior to Apex], Apex [first two batches totally botched] and Hero [badly polarised capacitor or whatever and burning boards]. This is my first EVGA motherboard, why? Because me and millions of other people always get a new product shortly after its release date, or a few weeks after its release date [when the reviews are out and early bugs fixed]. People rarely wait for another few months for a fully, even though superior and polished product [EVGA in this case].

Yes, we/they used to, but not anymore. We live in a super fast and a hectic era of innovations.

And yes, You're absolutely right, it's a bad practice, but that's how world works for the last 12+ years. Don't get me wrong, by all means, if generation lived for 3 - 5 years with all bells and whistles [of a chipset in this case], Your [and honestly my own too] mentality would work like a charm. The problem is as You can see, that a generation lasts for for up to mere 12 months. And lately there were being presented these weird half-yearly updates of chipsets, e.g. X570S, newer revisions of motherboards with optimized cooling, etc.

So yes, I would like to live in a world, where I'd be sporting full EVGA-style rig, but I can't. We live in a rather fleeting times. We might as well be dead by Christmas, or New Year, due to moron Putin and other world leaders, so waiting for a new hardware and playing games in higher framerate is a thing of a time privilege. Covid and now USA/NATO/EU/UA vs. RU war presents us with great potential narrowing of our life span and thus people won't want to wait "for another quarter", or "half a year" for a better, polished and heavily superior product. People will go after low hanging fruit, and that's that.

And that's how it is mate...I know it's sad, but it is what it is.

Where does this leave the Z790 Kingpin? 100% confirmed: Intel will launch its 13th-Gen Raptor Lake processors on October 20. Preorders are in force right now and retail availability for the K-series SKUs as well will arrive on October 20 along with the Z790 motherboards. After all Alder Lake made its formal debut at last year's event. Following the imminent Intel launch and lift on review embargoes, I was wondering if EVGA given its relatively new circumstances and corporate decision-making processes, would finally be stepping-up to the bar with its motherboard product's and not waiting until early 2023 to the dismay of it's many followers and customers. Besides being late to the party and readilly available cash and income up for grabs. With their GPU income stream being temporally interrupted one would think that EVGA corporate would want to take advantage of any possible income as soon as possible. Any new or updated thoughts and revelations out there? Or for that matter any most recent changes in the EVGA marketing and corporate product strategies? Bottomline: "Many of us want to see EVGA boldly moving ahead, looking alive, appearing positive and a 'just-in-time' motherboard availability would be a step in the right direction.

All I've heard is November. Don't know if that's early or late November. EVGA are usually a bit late on motherboard releases, although in some ways that's a good thing so any issues with the CPU once in the wild can be ironed out before the board is released. Sometimes it's better not to be a guinea pig.

I hope You're right! I was suppose to have Z790 Extreme from Asus today, but Asus can't even deliver on a date they promised, so I will cancel my preorder and will wait for my final board of this generation. I wanted to test it out, whether they fixed dual kit configuration as they promised and some other nuances for the time being of Dark Kingpin release, but since release dates of Dark Kingpin and Z790 might as well over overlap, I'm pushing Asus away by default...

I "pre-ordered" on the day 13900K came out, at around 15:10, and this was a date set in stone since that day, it updated a few times and fluctuated among 25th and 27th this month:

And today, when the board was suppose to come, or tomorrow, this came to my mailbox:

A note to Asus: You don't even have the last advantage You've had, and that was early release date of Your products.

uplink_svk Hmm...Aren't You guys @EVGA losing clientele this way?

I read your message and it was right on the money! Undoubtedly ASUS is still reeling with their 12-generation HERO quality control item and then their overall 13th generation mass produced motherboard pricing having gone way overboard. Then the absolute AMD fiasco in proffering a new halo-CPU which forces the customers in difficult economic times likes these in purchasing a new motherboard altogether including DDR5 memory. As such one has to wonder if certain corporate decision makers actually live in the realities of today. With boots on the ground and feelings for the man on the street!

Being a continued avid fan of all EVGA products, their quality and the inherent sterling RMA service, my disappointment today with EVGA is that they most certainly knew about the inevitable NVIDIA divorce for sometime, (at least 6-8 months beforehand) as something like loosing a major ‘chunk’ of revenue is not what usually corporately develops overnight. With that an effort in shoring-up their revenue stream with an early availability of their motherboard products should have been forthcoming.

As to preordering a Z790 Kingpin, I would welcome such an opportunity, but EVGA marketing in this particular strategy should allow all early risers and or aficionados with cash in hand a special upfront discount. Major gaming studios use this technique with much success and all based on a mere 15-second video introduction and thus securing as much immediate and advance revenue posting as possible. Private investors love this idea! My feeling: “EVGA these days absolutely requires the absolute infusion of accelerated income to keep things afloat, keeping team-members happy and looking more attractive towards other significant OEM’s pondering the possibility in joining EVGA to rounding-out their now missing product lines.” The bad..."Truly EVGA simply cannot afford losing clientele in their already strong headwinds and some already surfacing daubt if EVGA will ever be the same again and as they once were. My blond girlfriend when in doubt just adds a certain sashay in her walk and talk and wearing higher platform heels. As usual these moves together immediately dispel any of my doubts.

Long time user of EVGA products here including their motherboards and power supplies (RIP GPU's)
I just hope the new Z790 EVGA mb's can be purchased in Europe as well ive already setup my mind on the i9-13900k or i7-13700k.
Seeing the new mb's and my previous experience with two EVGA mb's without much issues been rock solid these past 7 years.
And i love the welcoming "beeping melody sound" whenever there is a successful post this grows on to you.

And im looking forward to EVGA ATX 3.0 power supplies as well.

Please EVGA make note of this do NOT forget your loyal European costumers! Don't let us go through insane shipping prices + VAT + custom fees if ordered outside of EU!
Make sure your EVGA.EU store has them in stock especially the new Z790 mb's and new PSU's that would be awesome! Will order them once i see them on the EU store!

PS i still hope you guys come back at the GPU market maybe AMD?

looks like Jacob confirms they're targeting November shipments. 11/11 would be great

It appears a bunch of z790 motherboards are set to be released 11/11

    Any other more realistic assumptions?

That's when I thought the W790's were to be released. For those that need the work station performance. Any new news???
Black Friday announcement for delivery just in time for under the tree? I could live with that.

The last word from Jacob on Twitter (Nov 18th) to someone that asked "any potential update on Z790 boards?" was:
"Was trying to get it ready in Nov however due to unforeseen circumstances may slip a bit..."

This week was very unlikely anyway as EVGA is closed for the holiday.

The EVGA U.S. Offices, Technical Support, and Warehouse will be closed in observance of the Thanksgiving Holiday on Thursday November 24th through Friday November 25th and reopening on Monday November 28th at 9AM PST.
Please take note that any items ordered from the EVGA.com Online Store from 11/23/2022 after to 11/27/2022 will start shipping on 11/28/2022.
EVGA would like to thank everyone for being a loyal EVGA customer, and we wish you a happy and safe holiday!

If you look closer to the main page, under 'PRODUCTS->Motherboards', there is a new entry 'Intel Z790(1)', but the link loads some other page. It appeared about a week ago.

Good catch! At least now we know the price of the Classified, $699.99
And if you click on the picture place you get a tease of the product page itself.
