Another PG challenge Oct 4th-11th 12:00 UTC, World Space Week Challenge 7 days, TRP.
TRP LLR2 is a CPU challenge.  720-1008 FFT size. FFT x 8 is the size of the task to fit in the CPUs' L3 cache.

The challenge thread is here: http://www.primegrid.com/forum_thread.php?id=10009

So going on the long end of 1008 FFT size. 1008 * 8 = 8064. That means each task uses 8MB? If my CPU has 16MB L3, then I want two concurrent tasks (16/8 = 2) at the max, correct?

Also FYI there's no need to be 1st.
    • Uses fast proof tasks so no double check tasks are needed. Everyone is "first"!

Yeah that’s the formula that they go by
Best to do some testing to make sure it’s worth it to do two or more at once
With no double checker it can be worth while to do more, even one per core
Looking for throughput not just speed

Also HT off is usually the best option.

I knew I wasn't getting up that early so I just started them last night before bed and hoped for the best.

I had an eight port switch go bad, took a while to notice it. Had a few off line for hours.
I did had a spare 10/100mb 8 port  i found in a box in the closet. Ordered a new gb switch.

Bummer, I wonder how I passed you so quickly.
I did get the Jade badge from project The Riesel Problem (LLR) today.

From the challenge thread the final tally. The leading edge advanced 5%. That's pretty good.

And we're done! Here are the stats:

    Challenge: World Space Week
    App: 15 (TRP-LLR)
Fast DC tasks are NOT included.
    (As of 2022-10-11 20:26:57 UTC)

    91632 tasks have been sent out. [CPU/GPU/anonymous_platform: 91632 (100%) / 0 (0%) / 0 (0%)]

Of those tasks that have been sent out:

    14774 (16%) were aborted. [14774 (16%) / 0 (0%) / 0 (0%)]
    691 (1%) came back with some kind of an error. [691 (1%) / 0 (0%) / 0 (0%)]
    63458 (69%) have returned a successful result. [63458 (69%) / 0 (0%) / 0 (0%)]
    10529 (11%) are still in progress. [10529 (11%) / 0 (0%) / 0 (0%)]

Of the tasks that have been returned successfully:

    2746 (4%) are pending validation. [2746 (4%) / 0 (0%) / 0 (0%)]
    60712 (96%) have been successfully validated. [60712 (96%) / 0 (0%) / 0 (0%)]
    2 (0%) were invalid. [2 (0%) / 0 (0%) / 0 (0%)]
    0 (0%) are inconclusive. [0 (0%) / 0 (0%) / 0 (0%)]

The current leading edge (i.e., latest work unit for which work has actually been sent out to a host) is n=13783970. The leading edge was at n=13122603 at the beginning of the challenge. Since the challenge started, the leading edge has advanced 5.04% as much as it had prior to the challenge!
