So i put this bad boy in but cant see a real benefit over the 5600x it actually tested lower in heaven bench and that is disappointing. I know the 5600x was OC but i didnt imagine id lose performance. Can anyone guide me to some bios setting that might help me out. Everything was the same except the message i get that the 5800x3d cant be overclocked

It offers better FPS averages and mins, but it's still a lower clockspeed than the 5600X so it will lose productivity and some other workloads that favor clockspeed. It's a gaming chip first and foremost. Since it's not intended to be overclocked there isn't much to change in the BIOS, not even tightening the RAM timings will do much because the 3D cache already mitigates most of the benefits there.

    Have water, will cool.
