Complete lunacy drives me to do these things .  I've suped-up my old ASUS P5K Premium, black peril edition computer
that resides in a Lian-Li PC7h case .  This was originally a dual core processor, 4GB RAM machine, but I previously
up-graded it to a 4 core Q9650, 8GB of Kingston 800Mghz RAM, and EVGA 1060 GPU .  I was never happy with the RAM (hot), 
or the CPU cooler (Arctic Freezer 7 .  OK for 2 core, but not much more), but it all ran fine .
So ... bought a new Noctua 14S, extra 80mm fan, new 90 deg. SATA cables, and EVGA 750W PSU .  The old PSU was 550W;
too minimal for what I had in mind .  Also got myself 8GB of N.O.S. OCZ 1066 RAM on Ebay (big drama, cost me extra $25) .
Ebay people sell a lot of non-functional junk, so beware of the bargain .  Best part: I had on hand an EVGA 1080GTX GPU :)
This is what the thing looks like .

First I stipped her down .  It turned into more work than I planned because I had to remove the mother board to install the
Noctua mounting system .  No cut-out in tray behind the MB .  Always something, right ?
The new old stock OCZ RAMs are also installed as seen below .

Then I built her up .

I must say the EVGA 750W P6 PSU is a great PSU for old computer upgrades .  Plenty of power, supple, easy to route
cables, and compact 90deg. connectors for SATA cables .  Even has a Perf. cable to Floppy drive adapter (needed that) .
It is also very compact .  I did have to cut a small notch in the PSU rear mounting plate to accommodate the ECO Mode
switch .  No ECO mode in the old days .  Just turn and burn ;) 
Also, these old Lian-Li cases are easy to whittle on: 100% aluminum, love it !
 
P.S.  Yes, that is a dial-up modem expansion card there on the bottom left :|

Thanks, Mr. Chaos_21 .  It's mostly original, I've done a lot of computer stuff with that thing over the years .  Now, with the better RAM,
I've got two good FSB overclocked profiles to run .  One at 3.6ghz, and one at straight 3.0ghz with tight RAM timings .  CPUz helped a lot with
that by reading the available factory SPD timings of the RAM modules ( they have 3 + a 1066mhz non-standard set, I think they called it EPD ) .
Easier for me than experimentation :)

Thanks, rjohnson11 .  I knew that finding the DDR2 RAM I wanted would be the hard part,
so I did that first before taking anything apart .  And tested the RAM I got before any further disassembly .
Also, I had to shop around for some low profile, right angle SATA cables I needed to ensure graphics card clearance .
EVGA 750W PSU was on sale, and I got good results, so, worth the work, and got the chance to clean out a little dust :)

Thanks jawalbert77, it's no show piece like some of the beautiful mods-rigs here, but it gives me a chance to re-cycle
some of my old parts that are still good, add some new ones with-out breaking the bank, and best of all, it all works :)
I want to thank everyone on here for sharing their rigs .  I think that's what gave me the idea to upgrade this machine
... or it's mind control ...
