I can see now the reason it is so expensive. The frame has go through a long hand-made process. This isn't just plastic tubes with ebay sheets of carbon fiber wrapped around it. In order to make sure the frame is strong enough to act as a structural component, the carbon fiber needs to be vacuumed for x amount of time. They have different vacuum processes like either sticking the carbon fiber in a vacuum bag or a vacuum chamber. The vacuum process could take almost half a day.

I was all set to buy one of these, but built a 12900KS system a couple months ago. I don't think the price is out of line considering what is included. I AM seriously considering moving my system to that chassis. It is a work of art, IMO. ETA Never mind! I incorrectly thought this was a whole system. I rescind my statement about not thinking the price is out of line.

Whoa reading the thread now I guess my opinion is out in left field hahaha. Oh well. Still highly considering the chassis. I have to figure out if my 420 rad will work. Doesn't look like it.

My question is if this "case" is going to follow the same discounts that we're now seeing for the Z690 motherboards and some GPUs. I'm thinking hold for a couple months and then grab it at half price. $1600 is just a cash grab.

This case is build to order. I doubt they will ever have to reduce price because they won't have inventory to worry about.
And that's also a reason contributing to the high price.
I like the frame but I don't care for the analogue gauges. I would have preferred a digital panel.

This right here. This case/frame (while aesthetically incredible and structurally sound) is probably double what it should be. The price and release of the frame without the carbon fiber power supply, 7th gen AIO cooler and whatever else was included in those initial pics has everyone scratching their heads and hesitating to pull the trigger. I'd pull the trigger in a heartbeat if the kit 1 or 2 were priced more reasonably.

Just a heads up Gauges will not work without software. so they are not true analog gauges just analog movement (Analog gauges do not require power or software to operate) From the manual To activate the Analog Gauges, you must connect the USB 2.0 cable from the Front I/O to the USB 2.0 Header on your motherboard(C), and run the E1 Control Software. If the Analog Gauges are not active, please confirm that the E1 Control Software is running

I appreciate the bespoke nature of the build to order. The glaring item for me is that the vertical bracket only supports a 2 slot or smaller card. With new GPU's coming out in the near future with 3 and possibly 4 slot requirements the vertical bracket is the "Achilles heel" for this case. Bit of a glaring engineering oversight for the price.

I love it! Wow, you really don't have to worry about cooling your expensive gpu and cpu as much with this set up. The price is a little insane for me, however. I'll have to try and pick it up on sale.

I believe this will be okay for future proofing. The manual says "Compatible only with 2 Slot PCI brackets or smaller". It appears to be the bracket and not the card width. If you check out EVGA's chonkiest 3090 Ti, it's only two slots. Even Big Chonk, the Aorus 3090 from Gigabyte, which is a four slot card, has a bracket that is only two slots wide. In the manual the images suggest that the mount sits above the gauges, so the card would just hang out in front.

If anyone is curious about the unboxing of this thing. For those curious as well, it looks like a push pull config on the top radiator mount is out but the side radiator appears to be possible. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oVomaHSg8Cg After giving up on the cable disaster at the back I've ordered some CableMod cables that I hope are the right length. I'll confirm what's needed when I see how close I was, just in case anyone else goes that route.

The top radiator mount has 3.1 inches of clearance due to the angle of the upper suspension cables while the front mounted radiator has 3.5 inches of clearance. I need to sell one of the 48mm radiators I bought since it won’t fit in the top mount :( I sent my case to Singularity Computers where they’re designing a Powerboard for the E1 that will be made available for sale in a few weeks.

Wow, that's a next level approach when it comes to power. I'll be interested in seeing what that looks like, should have waited myself and gone that route. Sorry to hear about the radiator, it's a shame that the one side on the top mount is just a bit too short. Glad I held off ordering the extra fans until I had a chance to test it.

It’s a pcb that routs power, with the end result allowing for cleaner cable routing because you can opt for short cables

I doubt it. Inflation is going up and carbon fiber isn’t cheap. The E1 is in a different situation than GPUs in the middle of an oversupply of cards.

Basically zero. The price drops are related to supply and demand and the E1 is hand made and built to order. So they're expensive to make, and they don't have any sitting in a wearhouse. What's more likely is that eventually, likely without warning, they'll stop selling them. It's a limited supply product intended to be rare.
