Edit: evga is no longer selling Nvidia products. No 40 series :(

Hi all,

I know this is all speculation at this point but I was just wondering if you think the Hydrocopper will be available on the 4090 launch (TBD but still). Or is there generally a delay from launch day for the HCs? I was hoping to upgrade my wc rig from a 3080 HC and already upgraded my psu to a evga 1600 p+.

non ref cards and coolers are not usually available on launch day.

Do they get their own launch days or about how long after launch day does evga come out with them?

Direct answer as best guess, no, no hydrocopper will be available for 1 to 2 months after launch. Even companies like EKWB won’t have a block available for a few weeks after launch, and that is their only focus in the industry is water blocks.

Evga typically gives general timelines, and those typically get pushed one or two times, so it is strictly best guess of when they will be released.

Hydrocoppers are never available at launch. Expect at least three months, though if there are design problems with the blocks it can quickly spiral to well over six months.

It's impossible to say for sure since nobody knows if or when a 4090 will launch. For all we really know we could see NVIDIA decide the 4080 is the highest number in the series.

As for hydrocopper it's hard to see any company investing money until NVIDIA provides them chips for cards. If a prototype in testing needs a revision that could completely change the design of a hydrocopper cooler.

Based on past releases Hydrocopper cards usually release quite a while after the normal model cards. Right now it is up to NVIDIA to first provide an official release statement...whenever that is.

I'm allocating funds and will still monitor the drops/queues just in case if magically I can snag one earlier than expected

Yeah, it really sucks. Almost no AIBs roll their own hydro cards anymore, guess it's time to play the match a custom block with custom card game.
