No VRR on XR1 Pro and no sound from my mic on stream

So I just got the XR1 Pro and VRR is not working with my series X. 1080p 120hz passthrough is working and when I plug my console directly into my monitor VRR works great! I really want VRR to work since it was the only reason I picked this capture device over another one. I have updated the firmware but that still did not fix it.
 
Also, when streaming I can hear party chat but not my won mic. Anyone know what setting to change on the console or is it even possible to hear my mic?

    As long as the firmware is updated using the XR1 RBG software found here https://www.evga.com/support/download/ and a display that supports HDMI 2.1 VRR should work without any settings to be made through the XR1 Pro. 
     
    As for your mic you'll need to check with Microsoft if that is supported.

    Ah I did not realize it has to be HDMI 2.1
     
    That's a bummer. At least I found out early so returning it shouldn't be a problem.

    Question regarding this. Does the XR1 Pro not support VRR through HDMI 2.0 via the AMD/Microsoft specifications. I have 2 1440P monitors that support VRR over HDMI 2.0 and work perfectly with the Series S/X (I have both) and my R9 290x (adapter since laptop is taking the display port atm). When the XR1 Pro is added the VRR option goes away (Xbox Series S/X to HDMI 2.0 freesync/adaptive sync compliant monitor).
     
    Is this something that can be updated (firmware), or is EVGA keeping VRR for this product strictly to HDMI 2.1 only?

    I have taken the last few weeks to try on multiple VRR HDMI compliant 1080 and 1440 displays and no dice with any of them: Series S&X, 3080, 290x (adapter), 5700xt, MacM1 (it does support and work with VRR without the XR1 Pro), 2080ti, and 6600xt. All of these support VRR via HDMI without the XR1 Pro as the pass-through. Is this a bug or is this just because the product (XR1 Pro) is strictly locked to the HDMI 2.1 identifier for VRR?
