Hello!

I had an approved RMA request for a 3080 XC3 that's artifacting and crashing to no display, which is currently showing in stock on the site for $809. The collateral being asked for the cross ship RMA is >1800 USD. Is this some form of bug?

Thanks in advance!

2X Retail - became the new standard, when people started abusing the RMA system to get a Second GPU, during the GPU shortage .. they never returned a GPU & sold it for more than retail or just kept two GPU

Sorry, but EVGA was forced to make a change due to the abuse

What Cool_GTX stated. The cost is 2x MSRP, not discounted price, for cross ship. There was a LOT of abuse where folks would schedule a cross ship RMA, and then just sell the original card for more than MSRP.

Standard RMA is still an option and doesn’t require a hold, but it does leave you without a GPU for a few days.

Some models Yes, people are in line to get them

policies change slowly, no idea if it will ever go back to what it was

I can confirm that this policy was changed this morning to go back to MSRP + Tax due to changes in market conditions.

I can also confirm that this customer called our support and we have assisted with setting up a new RMA request that falls under the newly updated collateral amounts.

Great services!  You rock!  Always nice to have feedback!

If i can give you only 1 hint, it will be for canadian expedition, avoid totally to offer the regular ground shipping for free... i got caught myself with UPS insane brokering fees... over 150$ in brokerage for a single RTX 3090 FTW3 ULTRA GAMING... and i'm not talking about taxes....those was 321$!  It's really brokerage fees that aren't included in standard shipping that was offered for free.  I feel like i was trapped into a UPS scam   So if you are in Canada, don't buy with the free ground shipping, it will result with an insane Brokerage fees gift!

WoW...to the brokerage fees...
Good to Know!
I just got a RMA replacement for a 3080 FTW3 Ultra... luckily  I went with the $1800 US ($2000+cdn) prepaid cross-ship. (no customs or brokerage fees)
Prepaid UPS return label..customs documents( Just had to sign)
I figured that the collateral would be refunded pretty quick and I might not even have to worry about actually paying it.
