Today apps getting more and more greedier for memory. Many already know that Dark series motherboards are 1 DPC (DIMM Per Channel) boards to help with best memory performance possible at cost of max capacity. This was a deliberate choice as adding additional slot make memory traces longer, and leaving unconnected empty slot cause reflections and bad signal quality for CPU's memory controller. But time move on and today we can buy 32GB UDIMM non-ECC. Latest BIOSes already implement update to support these memories in current DARK motherboards.

Keep in mind that cheaper 32GB+ RDIMM (Registered) or ECC DIMMs will NOT work , because these need server Xeon CPUs and specific layout, which is absent on DARK boards, again to improve overclocking margins.

Supported 32GB memory list:

EVGA X299 DARK (4 DIMMs, 1 DPC, maximum memory capacity 128GB with 4x32GB UDIMM) starting from BIOS 1.19
* Samsung 2666MHz UDIMM M378A4G43MB1-CTD - I bought mine on eBay for ~$160 a pair
* Corsair Vengeance LPX 32GB module kits - available from $150 per module, depends on speed grade
32GB support is not relevant to specific CPU, these RAMs can work equally well with oldest Skylake-X like 7980XE, or 9980XE or new CascadeLake-X.

EVGA Z390 DARK (2 DIMMs, 1 DPC, max capacity 64GB)
Samsung 2666MHz UDIMM M378A4G43MB1-CTD
Corsair Vengeance LPX 32GB module kits
32GB support is not relevant to specific CPU, these RAMs can also work with older CPUs like 8700K or newer 9900K/9900KS, etc.

EVGA SR-3 DARK (6 DIMMs, 1 DPC, max capacity 192GB with UDIMM).
This board is bit special, because it's the only one that can work with BOTH UDIMMs or RDIMMs but not at the same time(mixed).
More about this later.
Samsung 2666MHz UDIMM M378A4G43MB1-CTD
Corsair Vengeance LPX 32GB module kits

If somebody successfully tested and overclocked other 32GB modules on these or other EVGA MBs  - feel free to comment, I will add your results into this post.

Despite low spec frequency 2666MHz these Samsung modules can overclock really well, given the capacity. I was able to get some 3Dmark runs with 3700MHz, with reasonable timing/voltage bump. With more finetuning and better IMC perhaps stable clocks around 3800-3900MHz are possible.

Will the G.Skill's 32GB DC modules be supported with the latest BIOS updates, which are currently only compatible with select Asus's Z390 boards? I don't own an EVGA board, just asking for a friend.

No, G.SKILL DC modules are essentially two DIMMs on one PCB, requiring special receipe to work.
They are not supported on EVGA boards. Such zombies also not good for overclocking, as they present more than double of the loading on the IMC.

Great point about leaving open DIMM slots not just for benching but in general. Its essentially a open part of the circuit, which is why i usually seal off slots im not using with tape or some cushioning tape i have. I do alot of other circuits also, especially the mobo 24 pin's bent metal rails cause with my luck something would fly in there and connect them in just the wrong spots. So i dont take any chances any more on my builds and try to button up as much as possible.

According to this News "ASRock X299 Motherboards To Feature Up To 2 TB RDIMM DDR4 Memory Support" is it possible to use 4x64 or 4x128Gb UDIMM memory with x299 Dark? Something like this.

i9 10980XE, 32Gb DDR4 4133Mhz, EVGA x299 Dark
3175X, 48 GB DDR4, EVGA SR-3

It's not possible, HW routing on DARK does not allow use of LRDIMMs (physical design was optimized for best OC, not maximum DRAM capacity).

I cant imagine what youd want all that ram for other than a ram disk maybe. What would be really beneficial is if we could get some apps/games that use more than 4 cores and do it proficiently, not just paintshop. Were all dressed up with cores and no where to go with them!

I have just purchased X299 Dark and i9-10900X. I need to have 128 GB so I need to fully populate memory slots with 32 GB modules.

Corsair’s site doesn’t offer Vengeance LPX 128 GB (4x32) kit in speed higher than 2666 while CPU is 2933. Their 64 GB (2x32) kit does but it is not listed as 2933, it is listed as 3000. It also comes in two options: C15 and C16.

Do you see anything that would cause issues when using two 64 GB 3000 MHz C15 kits in my setup / make it a bad idea?

You will be fine using faster rated modules at slower speeds.

Thank you! Since my post I've purchased two 64 GB 3000 MHz C15 kits and am slowly starting to put everything together ...

While X299 Dark supports 32GB memory sticks I am still unable to use them to get full 128 GB on X299 Dark. Those interested in details of my experience can find it in this thread https://forums.evga.com/128GB-of-memory-on-X299-Dark-with-i910900X-m3019996.aspx

Any issues with using G.Skill, e.g. Model F4-3600C17Q-32GVK or Model F4-4000C18Q-32GTZKW given that they're not listed on G.Skill's QVL? This would be for the Z390 FTW variant.

I'm having odd huge performance drop when trying to use 32GB sticks in all 4 slots on X299 Dark. Details can be found here https://forums.evga.com/Low-Memory-Benchmark-Woes-m3040897.aspx

I've opened ticket for it and EVGA's Jose is already looking at it but I would appreciate if other senior EVGA techs could please look at it too.

While the CPU Compatibility lists have been updated to include 109??X CPUs, none of the X299 boards Memory Compatibility lists have been updated to include any 32GB DIMMs.
I am sitting here with a shiny, new X299 Micro ATX2 motherboard and a shiny, new i9-10920X CPU.  I have not yet purchased RAM for this system.  Seems like there must have been some testing before making this splashy announcement.  Share, please!

Im also curious which 32 Gb sticks will work on the Z390 Dark, I would like to upgrade to 64 Gb from 16 Gb. Keep the good info on coming.

I never tested X299 Micro ATX , but I'd expect latest BIOSes for all X299/Z390 to support 32GB density DRAM modules, EXCEPT G.SKILL DC modules.
Feel free to contact EVGA CS for exact details. Particular kit may not work best, especially when overclocking with XMP, but it should work.

Always thought there was a huge risk to overclocking but it seems like as long as your knowledgeable its some easy extra performance.
