Hello,  I wanted to know if it was safe to play New World on my EVGA 3090 ti FTW3 Video Card. I just recently bought the card and so far its been great. I own the New World game and had played it on my 2070 Super before upgrading but I know there was issues with the cards breaking down. So , is it safe to play New World with my video card?

    That has been asked a couple of times over the couple of weeks. No one has the perfect answer, but there has been no mention of issues with the 3090ti that I have noticed.

    Yeah I'm guessing whatever the issue was would of been resolved eith the newer released cards ;)

    According to Buildzoid, the deficiencies of the 3090 were addressed in the 3090 Ti.

    I haven't heard of a single problem with a 3090Ti and New World mostly it was the 3090 and the game got a patch afterward that was supposed to help fix the issues.

    They beefed up the power stages (also added more), and new voltage controller on the 3090ti which are more efficient and reliable than the ones used in most 3090's.  The underpowered VRM was taking much of the blame for the failures on the 3090s.
     
    In short, you should have no issues running New World.

    I played new world with +300 mem/+103 gpu. I played for 3 or 4 hours total though.

    Really what caused this was an issue with how the game was coded. It has now been updated. 
     
    This exposed a vulnerability in some EVGA FTW3 cards that were either recalled or vBios updated to address the problems.

    Eh, no. What caused it is that the VRM were overloaded due to big power spikes without any hardware protection against it. New World exposed the problem in mass numbers which previously existed for others in smaller numbers. The root problem is that the VRM have no protection against big power spikes, only protect against average power usage, and obviously didn't have enough of a fudge factor built into the design when choosing VRM rating. Low load to high load transitions are guaranteed to exceed the expected power limit when the power limit is average-based.
    For the 3090Ti, NVIDIA beefed it up.
