Can someone help me track down 3090 vs 3090 Ti benchmarks? Yes I know it'll be minimal, but I already ordered QDOLED monitor from Alienware that's 3440x1440p!

    11% average difference.  I would just get a 3080ti.

Those reviews are misleading too. Most of them just compared to a 3090 running at stock power limits. The difference will be smaller if both cards are running at the same PL.

So if my 3090 Hybrid is doing 2115MHz @ 1.025v, I would not even see 10FPS difference going to a 3090 Ti?

If not, then the only thing I can think is maybe it's good to have the extra resale value?

Most likely a 3-5 fps increase, before you think about resale value, you might want to see Ebay,

For the cooling alone I would go TI... both of my cards are FTW3 ULTRA GAMING.  My 3090 runs fine but gets hot (especially the rear memory) and the fans run loud during gaming. The 3090TI in the same case seems to have no trouble and rarely do the fans really spin up loud enough to notice.  I am looking to dump my 3090 eventually and pick up another 3090ti just due to the cooler being so much better.

What's the core temp usually rest at? Fans sound loud?

If you already have a 3090, it would be a bit silly getting a Ti now, especially with 4000 series just around the corner. Also don't think about re-sale value so much, as you are more likely to lose more money on the Ti in comparison. Unless you can of course bag one for a good price on Ebay?

I was facing the same dilemma last week and decided to just go for the 3090 (great deal on ebay for new card) and flip as soon as 4090/Ti is out.

I would need to toss my 3090 back in to get some A/B results but it was near 10c difference in temps (both cards in OC setting).  The 3090 didn't seem to underperform at all and fell in the normal range compared to the benchmarks I've seen... it just had higher temps, and the fans were noticeably louder than the 3090ti.

I have the exact monitor you ordered, and I just upgraded from a 3090 FTW3 Ultra hybrid to a 3090 Ti FTW3 Ultra hybrid. I don't have any hard numbers, just my anecdotal experience. Playing Modern Warfare multiplayer I was noticing a 5-7fps improvement, same for Metro Exodus. This was also before I updated the 3090 Ti to the 516W BIOS. My 3090 had the 500W BIOS applied though. Here's a Time Spy comparison between the two, https://www.3dmark.com/co.../28098694/spy/22118600

One significant thing I noticed is that the 3090 Ti runs around 5c cooler than the 3090, plus I was able to turn the fan speed down a bit so it runs quieter too. More significantly though I noticed the memory and power modules monitored by the ICX sensors run way cooler on the 3090 Ti. For the 3090 I was always setting the VRM fan to 85% when gaming, and the temperatures would get into the 65-70c range. For the 3090 Ti I set the VRM fan to 50% and they stay around 55-60c. The memory junction temp also is about 10c cooler in my experience.

For core clocks my 3090 usually stayed around 2025mhz depending on the game, rarely ever reaching 2100mhz. The 3090 Ti is mostly at 2150Mhz.

I think the 3090 Ti is a better overall option than the 3090 for the thermals alone, and various reviews seem to indicate that EVGA really overhauled the card.

Wow nice score! I may skip it. Only real issue with my 3090 Hybrid is the pump buzzes off and on.

    This is my best:.

I actually ended up trading my 3090 FTW3 Hybrid locally (OfferUp) for a 3090 Ti FTW3 ULTRA +$150.

After some initial testing, I think they were a miner because this card will artificial at anything over +950 on the memory.

Do I care? Nope. I've never particularly found overclocking the memory to be worth it for extra frames. In fact, even at +500, I'm only seeing about 2-4 extra FPS in games and synthetics like Heaven.

Also, I have to say I'm quite happy with the memory temps and the core clock happily pumping up to 2055MHz out of the box untouched. So far, I have dialed in a 1.025 undervolt @2115MHz. Can it go higher, sure.. seen 2190 a couple times when I was testing max OC, but I don't feel like flying too close to the Sun! The cooler is quiet and keeps my beast happy at around 58C @60% fan in a pretty much "open air" scenario!

I will test it against some of my older 3090 hybrid benchmarks and see what the performance difference really is!

That's not unusual at all for those.  The mem starts out clocked higher than the 3090, so a lot of them can't do +1000 or more.  The mem runs cool on them too, so I doubt mining would have hurt it either.  I mined with 5 cards for over a year during the boom and none of them lost any OC'ing ability on the mem.

My brand new 3090 Ti FTW3 Ultra Hybrid will restart my PC (which has an EVGA 1600T2 power supply) if I OC the VRAM higher than +600. Silicon lottery is exactly that.

I've had Kingpin 3090s that artifact in some benchmarks at anything more than +1000 on the memory and two customer Strix 3090 cards that don't do well above +1000 on the VRAM, so I'm not sure if it was use for mining or just bad luck in the silicon lottery.  I have a friend who bought a used mining card that was used for over a year for mining(it was really cheap and he needed a new graphics card) and it does +1300 on the VRAM.  So maybe its just bad luck in the silicon lottery and not mining.

I tend to agree. Sometimes it's just luck.

Yup, overall very happy with this card though. And ZERO coil whine! Silent 🔕 gaming is a huge priority to me as I don't typically like the feel of headphones on my head.
