Is my 3090 FTW dead?

I was loading up a game and my computer just suddenly went dead. When I turned it back on I saw that the GPU remained dark except for a single red light above one of the power cables. Is my GPU dead?

    Very much so. You could try reseating the cables on both ends to verify it just didn't come loose or a whole new cable, but I would say it is toast.

    Thanks. This is what I was afraid of. I installed my old 1080 just to be sure and it does indeed power up and work as expected. I have never had to RMA anything with EVGA before. Is calling better than going through the online portal?

    Been a long time since I had to RMA with EVGA. I would go the portal route, unless you want to talk to tech and see what they say first.

    Naw.. call durring buisness hours is best. They will do all the work for ya and obviously you'll get a card faster thst way instead of waiting a day or so for a response.

    Maybe get lucky and they can cross ship it and have the return label in the box.

    I just saw that with cross ship they are offering a free return label. At least that is the way I interpreted it. I will call on Monday and see what they say. I have one of the original red lip cards. I guess this was inevitable.

    Its not just the original red lip 3090's....3080Ti's and 3080's also affected....by visits to the "Red Light District" unfortunately....would likey be the only reason I would upgrade from 3090 to 3090Ti, I believe they "must" have this power delivery issue sorted out now....in prep for RTX 40xx series.....

    Hmmmmm. That's rather disappointing. My 1080 FTW was rock solid. 
    Although I've had this 3090 since Nov 2020 so I guess I've been luckier than some.

    Although I've had this 3090 since Nov 2020 so I guess I've been luckier than some. 




    Yep the Evga 1080Ti SC Cards are still amazingly good Cards, when I RMA'd my 3080Ti FTW3 I threw the EK Block back on my 1080Ti and worked flawlessly in my loop ;) Its now back on air in my Plex Server!!

    So my replacement card has been shipped. Serial number starts with 2219. I assume it is a refurb?

    The RMA replacements are refurbished cards but since the warranty transfers over you shouldn't have to worry about the replacement.
