Hey guys!

I will do my best to describe the issue I'm facing.
This is my first ever Lian Li case build (lian li 011d-xl ROG is the case if that helps), I was a happy NZXT fan for many years but I wanted to build an ultimate machine with the best possible parts.

The issue I'm facing is the screws. Those that came with the motherboard (z690 dark KP) seem to be way too short. I've somewhat managed to install 6 screws but the last 3 (all 3 are on the right from the I/O shield side) simply refuse to reach the preinstalled standoffs and do go in.

What am I doing wrong? I've tried reassembling the whole thing 4 times now, even asked my friend to give it a try (I thought that maybe I simply couldn't line the holes and standoffs up correctly).

Has anybody else faced the similar issue? Is it possible that the huge metallic backplate piece makes the motherboard way too think for a regular case? Is it supposed to be unscrewed before you mount the MB?

Help :(

Screws that come with the motherboard are for using the blank board as a test bed with the big stand-offs that came with it. Usually the case comes with the correct screws for mounting any motherboard inside it. Check your case parts for the proper screws.

Edit: that said, I'm not sure if the backplate on the Dark boards requires you to use different screws and they give a set for that...

more likely an interference /contact issue or short standoff

    ck to see:

    1) Standoffs in the correct location for your MB ?

    2) that the standoffs are all the same length, and "MB tray" in case is Flat

    3) if MB is touching the case's standoffs  - before - it touch anything else

    4) Screws, check same length as ones that seem to work - the number of threads that Do extended past the MB = ?

Use the appropriate (indicated) motherboard screws that come with the Lian Li Case....they are already matched to the pre-installed stand-offs....I just installed an older Z390 Asus Maximus XI-Extreme in the same Lian Li case....no issues using the appropriate securing screws....read the manual thats included with the case.

The issue I'm facing is the screws. Those that came with the motherboard (z690 dark KP) seem to be way too short. Has anybody else faced the similar issue?

Indeed today I ran into the same problem. All 0EM MB standoffs on my COSMOS C700M enclosure were clear and aligned perfectly with my Z790 DARK MB. No dibble and no wobble. The COSMOS did not come with any MB mounting screws. I appears that EVGA did not supply any MB mounting screws either for the DARK nor perhaps even reaching through a 12-layer PCB. Lucky for me I earlier purchased (Amazon) a box of ‘Helifounder PC Standoffs’ and screw assortment which fitted my requirement. Same screw sizing but a bit longer in order to comfortably making the Z790 MB grip.

This said I expected the forum posts here to explode with the missing and or DARK MB screws being a bit on the short side. It appears that we are the only (2) having experienced this dilemma. Thoughts anyone?
