Oh, I see that accounts that have already purchased an EVGA 30 series card are pushed back in queue anyway and I got rtx 3060 last year's summer.. so not much of a chance to get this one it seems..

Depends what games you are playing and at what resolution. 8GB VRAM will be fine. If you are playing Beat Saber and VRChat, you are good to go, Half Life Alyx on the other hand, you will be making compromises. My recommendation is get in on the queue for a 3050 and use it to enter the step-up for a 3060Ti, or a better GPU depending on your budget.

Where is this stated?
In queue 3.0 rules/FAQ. But there are certain (important) clauses to consider that go with it, like if you got the card from EVGA directly and which tier you are in.

I seem to remember that someone understood the secret sauce behind the link and was able to post one that would directly let you click on the Auto-Notify button without needing to load the product page. The link, of course, would not actually work until EVGA went live with the actual Auto-Notify button. Does anyone know what the link will be to register for Auto-Notify and be on the queue?
I'm asking because my son just completed his first build and I'd love to be able to put a brand new 3050 in there.

Given that it's not much faster than a GTX-1070, and it's going to cost almost as much as an RTX-3060, I do not think it's going to be worth the effort nor the money for people trying to upgrade from something like a GTX-1050/TI or a 1060. You just don't get enough bang for the buck for the amount you're paying.
The GTX-1050 TI is extremely underrated, and no one can tell me otherwise.
