Ok, so I've been out of the loop for 8 years, and need advice::: EVGA loyalist since 2007 - nForce 680i SLI / nForce 780i / Z68 FTW and finally X99 Classified (w/ i7 5930K & 1080ti FTW3)
Life got in the way, as it does. Now I am in queue (04/2021) for RTX 3080 10G-P5-3897-KL FTW Ultra Gaming.
I missed out on queue for Z690 Classified, and looking for realistic ETAs. No particular rush (after 8 years after all!), Also other EVGA alternatives or competing Z690 recommendations.
EVGA loyalty based on good RMA experience (nForce 780i SLI/Z68 FTW), no hassles and prompt service.
Thank you, in anticipation of recommendations!

Not sure when EVGA will reopen the Z690 Classy queue, but I don't think it will be far away, just keep checking the page (link). You will need DDR5 memory for that board too. DDR5 availability was looking to be sketchy, but there seems to be more and more of it becoming available recently as production ramps up. Corsair.com has some available right now. Try to avoid buying from EBay scalpers. Alternatives are the usual suspects - primarily ASUS motherboards. They have DDR4 Z690 boards as well as DDR5, so that is always an option for you. EVGA is only doing DDR5 as far as we know. The EVGA Z690 Dark KingPin is expected maybe mid-February or later.

I've seen a lot of people on the Z690 Classy Queue thread getting their boards from being in queue already. It would seem like it is going pretty smoothly there, so I wouldn't expect it to be too long. I am in queue for it now, and I have no other experience other than what I have seen on the threads themselves.

Thank you both. As I mentioned, after 8 years of inaction, other than successfully migrating to M.2 storage, with none of the issues that some X99 Classy users had, (Intel 660p M.2 2280 2TB), and Intel M.2 E Wi-Fi 6 AX210, I'm in no particular rush other than hopefully having components, for when my RTX3080 FTW3  arrives.  Also thanks for the heads-up on DDR5 & Newegg availability seems decent right now.

One last question:: what's the popular go-to processor?   i7- 12700KF ? and if I'm not mistaken, F=no integrated Intel graphics?  Any not-so-obvious reasons, for getting the K(not F) version, seeing as buyers of this board, would always couple with discreet GPU?
OK, so two questions really, but related.   Again, I'm playing catch up!
Thanks again for advice/opinions given.

Since you decided to go with Z690 then minimum is any i7 12xxK and with out F , you will benefit a lot in future than with F. Check out on YouTube for intel 12 th gen .

Thank you, and I'm curious regarding integrated graphics, but I'll watch those videos as suggested. I'm also going to need the Corsair standoff screws conversion kit for the LGA1700 mount; cheap enough though.

I'm happy this week for having the integrated graphics. I've had to warranty my 3080 ti due to excessive coil whine. The replacement had the same issue so it is back in the shop again. Each time I've only had to swap the DP cable from card to board and can keep doing my work on this system. I do have a spare 1080 ti but in this case it is just easier to leave the card out while the shop decides if it is eligible for the "In-Store Product Replacement" program I purchased.

Just my experience from this week :)

Are there big performance issues or anything related to having the integrated graphics? I could understand not having it might boost output potentially, but the use case for having a graphics card go down and not having any video would be hard to ignore.

There's no real evidence to say K or KF parts are "better" for overclocking but most OC boards don't have video output or VRM to turn on the iGPU anyway so just get whatever is cheaper imo unless you want the fancy box from the 12900K.

Overclocking affects both in the same manner.  Really comes down to the Silicon Lottery to see how far you can push the CPU for either sku.  Here's an article from some quick searching.

I just fell out of that "in no rush to upgrade" boat at the end of 2020.  My 3770 overclocked over 4.5 kept me chugging along for a long time.  And it still does decently considering I have an SSD main drive, and I play my games on an NVMe attached to a PCIe to NVMe converter.  But I finally started noticing CPU bottleneck with a 2070.  And I got lucky enough to take advantage of EVGA's trade-up plan for a 3080 FTW3 at the end of 2020.

But my time has finally come.  I'm now itching to jump from my 3770 to the 12900kf I have sitting in a box and to jump from DDR3 to DDR5 and to finally have proper NVMe support.  It's gonna be a whole new build in about 10 years.

Kind of in the same boat as the OP. Finally upgrading from my X58 Classified. Missed the Queue program. Is there no other way to be notified of available stock now?

Nope. I signed up day 1 and still haven’t received a notification. So don’t think they are going to be opening things up for awhile.

I was going to suggest nowinstock.net, but unfortunately they haven't tracked EVGA motherboards since the Z390. Looking at the Classified Queue thread (link), it seems many of the people who got in the queue have already received boards, so chances are that EVGA may open it again sometime soon.. watch that thread for when more boards are sold. Usually they'll only open the queue during their business hours, which is California time Monday-Friday from about 8am to 6pm local time, so that at least gives you a narrower window. Keep it bookmarked on your phone and check it every now and then.. often queues open at 9am their local time. Follow @TeamEVGA and @EVGA_JacobF (EVGA Product Manager) on Twitter, sometimes they post when queues are opening or new products are launching. Hope that helps.

Well, I lucked out. I curiously checked eBay and there was ONE Z690 Classified out there (still sealed and unregistered). I sent the seller a message asking to take the sale offline and he agreed! Settled on a price just above his overall cost and its shipping to me tomorrow!!
