"Guys over at 3DCenter.org have just updated their GPU price charts for January, which is a second update this month.
AMD Radeon RX 6000 and GeForce RTX 30 prices are declining, this trend has been observed for the second time this month. From 185%, GeForce RTX 30 cards are now ‘only’ 177% more expensive than they should be. Meanwhile, AMD cards observe a reduction from 178% to 167%, which is a retail price increase over the official MSRP (Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price).
Those price changes are likely not yet affected by the crypto coin crash that took place last week. For those to take effect we probably have to wait a week or two (so the next price update should be very interesting).

One of the most popular coins for crypto mining on GPUs, Ethereum has just marked its lowest value since August. This, combined with the upcoming proof-of-stake update in June, means that all new purchases of graphics cards may not see the return of investment by that time. It will now take years, not months to generate enough revenue from mining to pay off the graphics cards.
Furthermore, AMD and NVIDIA have finally launched entry-level GPUs such as Radeon RX 6500XT (now available) and GeForce RTX 3050, the latter launching this Thursday.
It should be noted that 3DCenter made an update to their price updates. NVIDIA has recently increased prices for its reference designs in Europe. This would mean that 3DCenter pricing would have to follow and it would show an even bigger decline. To accommodate this fact, the website is using US MSRP’s converted into Euro with additional VAT included. This market analysis is still only using German and Austrian retailers though, so this may not reflect markets around the world, but it is still the most accurate price trend analysis to date, now marking its 1-year anniversary."

My Thoughts:  May be a little too early to set off the fireworks, but the extended "dead cat bounce" on the second half of 2021 GPU prices is a welcome sight along with the availability trend line.  Lets hope crypto continues its downward trend, but who knows as those markets can be easily manipulated and I would predict more up and down spikes as we get closer to 2h 2022.

Agree with cyclic nature of crypto as that market is too easily played with to draw long term conclusions.  It is going to take some time to see if we are actually going to see an increase in availability.

Yeah a few % I would not call newsworthy. Maybe here in the USA, I know all over Europe its bad. Unless you work for some big company that deals with tech, that has exclusive employee discounts you are going to get shaken by the ankles. Even here in the USA, if you want a video card you still have to go with a system builder/company, or GL or get shaken by the ankles by the scalpers to people going the market value markup is legit buy this used card or a card I purchased over 30 days ago and you wont be the original purchaser... Yeah, it's gotten a bit nuts and still is. That small % is not even newsworthy honestly.

I need another 3080 Ti Hydro Copper. Been watching eBay and the prices have been coming down. They are under $2k now for a new card, where they were $2.3K last month. Sucks I can't get another one through EVGA and EVGA only sells 30 series Hydro Copper cards from their store. I can't go to Micro Center or Best Buy to get one. Strange as I bought my 2080 Super Hydro Copper from Micro Center.

For anyone not paying attention and/or not checking prices regularly, there are New 3090's being sold on ebay for sub $2k..  The market is trending down quickly and hopefully this momentum sticks..

If so, we could see a flood of scalpers start offloading GPU's fighting to undercut each other rather than hold on to inventory..  Hopefully parallels to what is happening with the DDR5 market currently.

Those eBay [Buy it Now] prices, that many youtubers use to calculate the "going price" for any given GPU model, are usually far above the actual selling prices.
[Buy it Now] listings available for more than a few minutes are often too high, otherwise a person or bot would have bought it already.
You have to watch (or have data) as the bidding time runs out and look at the "sold" price for various new/used models; also consider other pro/con factors.
And then, you might watch for relistings of the exact same GPU, to filter out shill/fake bids/buys used to drive prices up.
Also, while signed into eBay, you can sometimes notice bots/scalpers bidding the price up on listings days/many hours before auction end.
Sometimes, the same eBay account will bid against itself to drive up the price.

TLDR; Yeah, I've noticed a significant down trend on eBay prices. Newegg prices are also nudging down a bit too.

Viable Intel ARC desktop GPUs being on the horizon should help keep downward pressure too.
Lets just hope Intel pulls a rabbit out of the hat and there's a significant number of decent GPUs actually available.
I would love to be able to jump on that Intel GPU bandwagon and never look back - cya nVidia
(I don't even want to talk about AMD and the lingering ATI stank )

A lot of it could be the 3080 12GB driving down prices of the 10GB and people interested in a 3090 now wanting to see the price of the 3090Ti.
