It might have been what you were stepping from and to.  Here is the latest information about a third of the way down the page under "New restrictions on Step-Up availability,"  https://www.evga.com/support/stepup/.

I thought I would be able to step up from the base 3090 that I got suckered into after an 8 hour drive through povertyland Carolinas. You know its the Carolinas when you see trailers and roadkill all over the place

or they just decline your invoice :
"Your Step-Up request has been declined because EVGA has been unable to approve the invoice that you have submitted. This may include illegible date of purchase, purchase location, part number, and/or price."  ... or shortage of cards ...

Step up has nothing to do with a shortage of cards. Make sure your invoice shows the place of purchase and date of purchase clearly. You should have an email showing that your invoice uploaded so you can see what EVGA can see.

When you receive the "step 2" email stating that you have completed the queue process and they are looking at your invoice and making any necessary price adjustments, the card you requested a Step Up to has been reserved for you and set aside pending the review of said materials. It has nothing to do with any shortage at that point if your request has been denied. The card is there ready to be sent to you if you are eligible. If you were declined at that point it is because of one of the reasons they listed, no other.

Am I missing something or is there no way to step up to the 3060 TI shown in the inventory picture on the original post? The table above doesn't list the 3060 TI as a step up target for any of the listed cards.

Hoping it is possible to step up from a 3060 TI XC Gaming to the 3060 TI FTW3 shown in the example but sounds like that might not be possible :(

Any clarity on that would be great!

You are correct, you can not step up from your 3060 TI XC Gaming to anything in the same NVIDIA class, i.e., anything in the 3060 range, as the new chart indicates.

Hmmm, strange they have it as an example in the picture yet there is no possible card to step up to it from.

Just checked the live inventory where I can see there is a 3060 ti ftw3 listed yet from this post, there is no possible way to step up to it. Am I crazy and missing something?

I believe what you are seeing is what is available across the board, i.e., all available Step-Up cards for everyone.  Don't forget that 20 Series can step up to the 3060 SKUs.

Under https://www.evga.com/support/stepup/ and then "FAQ for the New Step-Up Rules"

"The Step-Up Inventory lists the product I want, but when I go to start my Step-Up I don’t see it as an available option. Why?

The Eligible GPU / Step-Up Option chart shows which GPU and/or Series that your product is eligible to Step-Up [<font]to. The Step-Up Inventory list shows which products are available to Step-Up [<font]to in each GPU and Series."

Your other option is to call EVGA, 1.888.881.3842, and ask.  They are still open for the next 45 minutes.  Post their answer in this thread as a help to everyone.

Does "step up to the 3060 SKUs" include the 3060 ti?

The 3070/3070 ti and 3080/380ti both are delineated in the eligibility table but not 3060/3060 ti.

Eligible Option Chart:

If you're referring to the Step-Up from a 20 series, your only choice is a 3060.  Why EVGA decided not put the 3060 Ti in the option for the 20 series could be any of many factors, e.g., demand, availability, etc., that we are not privy to.

So there are currently zero possibilities on how someone would step up to a 3060 to, even though they are listed in the options available for step up queue.

Only logical thing I can think is that the 3050 will step up to the 3060 ti and we are just in an award in-between phase.

That is all at the discretion of EVGA.  Something to keep in mind are these points which are listed directly below the chart:

Additional Terms of the New Step-Up Rules
  • Eligible and available graphics cards are determined at the time of official availability and are subject to change upon release of new products and/or factors outside the control of EVGA.
  • Inclusion of eligible VGA products within the Step-Up program is determined solely by EVGA.
  • An available Step-Up Option does not guarantee an available part number within the Step-Up program. EVGA reserves the right to add or remove part numbers at any time, including due to limited stock.
  • Lack of availability of a Step-Up option within a GPU or Series does not permit stepping-up to an unavailable GPU option.
  • No rain-checks are permitted if a participant is unable to Step-Up within their 90-days due to a lack of available options or part numbers.

Maybe I'm confusing it with RMA process where you get b stock back?

Neither is BStock, as BStock has a -Rx part number. RMA is recertified products with same part number model as a brand new product and has the remaining warranty of the original product sent in, and maintains the transferable warranty.

Step up is a brand new item.

BStock has a limited warranty and no transferable warranty.

EVGA Europe it is.

And when did you get in queue?

Also is it possible to change your step-up? Bought the 3070 a year ago because couldn't find a 3080. But in the meanwhile upgraded my pc to alder lake etc. so a 3080ti would match better.

You can only change your queue within those first 90 days of purchase.

Thnx, let us pray that the queue moves up a little faster.
13 months now and I believe Doumi111 was in line for 16 months.

Yes, I've been in queue from October 2nd 2020 to January 14th 2022. : )
As it has already been said you cannot change your step up past the 90 days window, unless maybe EVGA offers you this possibility due to a possible end of production for the 3080 10GB now that the 12GB is out. That's a lot of if, hope you get a card soon!

I have a question - may be silly. So I recently bought a 3060 Ti FTW3 Ultra from Caseking.de (Germany) for EUR 750 (excl. taxes + shipping). If I want to step-up to a 3080 which is at EUR 789 on EVGA's website, does that mean I would pay only EUR 39 for the upgrade? EVGA's website indicates that you subtract from the price you paid for the original product, but does that also include cards purchased from authorized resellers and not directly from EVGA?

Yes from authorized resellers do count.
But they will only credit you the MSRP and nothing over it if you paid more than MSRP.
They do not credit you the taxes you paid, so you will pay what ever tax is due as if it were a new purchase.
At least the tax is that way the North America, I am not 100% sure about the EU but my guess it yeah you will have to pay the taxes on the MSRP purchase price.

The only queue that is moving fast is the 3090 ftw3 because it's pricer. I got my Step 2 within 5 days, before I had the chance to open the 3080 12gb box.
