I have not built a PC in a very long time, and with acquiring a z690 classy I thought it time to just overhaul everything. However I am unsure of what cases are good these day. A friend said get a 5000d Hydro X as it was a good water cooling case. However wanted to hear more suggestions before I commit. I currently have a 1600 T2 that may not fit most cases, and I may have to downgrade. Link of my current build, minus the z690 classy and Optimus PC CPU cooler as they aren't on the site. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/DY3btn. Thank you.

I have some Caselabs cases, but they are no longer in business.  I also have couple Thermaltake Core P5 TG cases that are wall mounted.  Many build in the that Corsair case.  One of the most popular cases is the Lian Li O11.  It comes in a few sizes and is quite versatile.  Here is a link to the Lian Li O11 Dynamic - https://lian-li.com/product/pc-o11-dynamic/  I considered this case, but my Caselabs are tried and true, so I stuck with them.  You can get them on eBay, but they are expensive.  Lian Li is not cheap, but their site has quite a few other options.  Also look into Raijintek - https://www.raijintek.com/en/products_bycategory.php?CategoryID=2

Be quiet 802 case currently not satisfied with the airflow. Take the front panel off and it drops 10C on the GPU. I,m going to put the back door on the front and mod it for fans and filter.

Corsair 1000D for me.  Corsair 5000D Airflow for daughter.  Thermaltake Core X71 View for wife.
I'd go with the 7000D if I was building now.

I feel like I have replied to this multiple time, but it keeps getting lost. I used to have a caselabs sm8 (the one where the mobo laid flat), but movers destroyed that PC. The O11 looks nice but seems super overused, and for good reason.

I'm glad you spoke up Nozler because 802 was on my list.

I think I may go with the 5000d for now. It's not flashy and is pretty toned down but more mature looking. The 7000d was a bit to big imo.

I like large cases & use EATX MB almost exclusively.  I've listed two brands that are worth looking at; for values, fit & quality

What size case do you want ?

    Price range ?

How many radiators are you planning to use ?

    AIO or custom loop ?

Glass or plastic / windows or the entire side ?

    Thermaltake

Thermaltake View 71 RGB - I use this in my "AIO Folding Rig"  (see my signature link to build)

Phanteks Enthoo Primo - I use this in my "AIO Folding Rig"  (see my signature link to build)

Or hypnotizes you.  I bet there was a share price bump for the company that made your fans.

Lian Li Dynamic 011, The ultimate case for midtowers for cooling/configuration options, from air/to aio's and even water cooling. Want something with a little bit more room? The Lian Li Dynamic XL.

Most of corsair's stuff is meh, if you are going to have a 30 series and cool it with air, you are really going to want those bottom fans to keep the temps low.

To be fair to the case There's a 420 rad in the front as intake.and no way I could get the 420 in the top so the airflow is warmed and restricted.
Good luck in your search 🔎

Using Corsair 5000D for x99 system. Room for a lot of stuff. 280 aio for cpu on top and 280 on the front for gpu. Looks great. Haven't bought parts in a while. Was doing some upgrades over the past holidays and got that case. I think it has good price, performance ratio.
Have another x99 system in the older Corsair. Will probably upgrade to 5000d as well.

    Ghost.

Fractal Meshify 2 Compact. This is my first time using a Fractal product, but I really noticed a serious build quality improvement having pretty much exclusively used NZXT cases in the past. Only downside is it's pretty small, but that's what I get for ordering a compact case.

For my second build I'm going with the Lian Li O11 Dynamic XL. I love the way all of the O11Ds have been designed and because they're so popular, they're lots of support for them.

First was a Lian Li PC60 bought back in 2001?  Still use it.  Second was a Lian Li PC A20 Silver.  Still have it and it's a fantastic case still.  Currently using an ABS-Black Pearl aluminum case: right side access LOVE IT.  And my gaming PC case is an old Corsair 800D.

I use HEDT EATX motherboards, and the best case I have ever used is the 760T, which is no longer available.

780T, and 750D have the same frame So those should be great, but have a lot of removable HDD bays, and fixed 5.25" bays.

If I were to buy a case for myself today, it would probably be the 7000D/X.
On a budget I would get the 750D however the 5.25 fixed bays might be an issue if you don't have optical drives.
(de-rivet the optical cage as an option may require reinforcement).

I might consider the 1000D, but that is over $500us

    These are very large cases.
