yes, nice doing the comparision.
but i think you need to get a ftw 3080 10gb and 3080ti to get all the numbers. hurry before the 3090ti releases.

nice review, also I wonder why some youtube reviewers saying the 3080 12GB performs similar to a 3080 10GB and others say it performs in the middle between the 3080 10GB and the 3080 Ti  , once I get my 3080 12GB ftw I'll do some tests too

It might be card to card variance. This particular card was perfectly happy sitting at 400w under load, and on the less dense GA102-220 it spent an awful lot of time close to 2000mhz.
It is certainly not a bad card.

okay and true, the extra 2GB vram will help the gpu in the long run, I rewatched one of the youtube reviews that was using the ryzen 5000X series system and it depends on the resolution and games that changes the performance gap

Have only one question: The 3080 12gb have the same crappy fans that click like crazy when the rpm goes low, or did EVGA solve it this time ?

I believe that is accurate. On benchmarks it appears to be closer to 3080 10G while on gaming tests it appears closer to the Ti.

Best Buy online drops are the best so you don't get ripped off - sign up for notifications from stock tracking sites. StockDrops discord and if you're online when the notification comes in - you very likely can get a GPU. Weekdays between 11am-1pm every 2 weeks usually, but the days can vary - I've seen anything from Tue - Fri. They just had one today. You have to usually pickup from store in a few days if you're able to order one.

I've gotten both the 3070ti ftw3 and XC3 from the que, a 3090ftw3 from Newegg, 3080 12 GB from Newegg, an MSI 3070 from Newegg, and a 6600XT from Newegg. Most of the gpus were for friends, we just all entered the shuffle till everyone got a gpu.

Do you mind if you do a test without any voltage or frequency limit ? So to see how the 3080 12 gb is vs the 3090.
What exactly do you mean? Both cards were tested at default operation on their standard BIOS. And then both were tested at 1800mhz/918mv Do you mean what happens if I switch both cards to the XOC BIOS and let them run?

through a new egg, and it was exactly at EVGA's MSRP $1,299 it was bundled with an EVGA 850 watt power supply, which was perfect for this particular situation as my friend was going to need a new power supply for this card as he only had a 650 watt unit.
