I've purchased two FTW3 3070 Tis over the last two years for two different builds, one just two weeks ago after evga finally sent invite.
After getting everything setup the first time, Precision X1 was the last thing to install. After launching, it updates the "firmware", i.e. VBIOS, and then the fans spun non-stop. I think once through X1, I was able to get one of the three fans to stop spinning. They were also spinning at 30-40c too. I think the threshold is 50-60c?
So both times, including a few minutes ago, I grabbed the latest VBIOS from techpowerup, 94.04.5A.00.F0 dated 5/20/2021, flashed the card with nvflash, problem solved. Fans are no longer spinning, even at ~45c. I can't remember, but I think the BIOS X1 updated the card to was 94.04.5A.00.F2, or something ending in a higher F number.
Has this happened to anyone else? Is there a better fix? Is there a better place to get evga vbios from like an evga.com site? (I do trust techpowerup, been in the business for over a decade, maybe two)
