Hi all. I just recently upgraded to a 30 series card from my trusty 1080ti. I got a 3090 XC3 Hybrid. I've noticed that the temps are a bit high, especially the "hot spot" and memory temps. As I've just gotten the card installed recently I've played a few games (Halo and others) and I've been running benchmarks (Time Spy, Port Royale, Heaven, Superposition, etc.). This is with everything set at default (no OC) and a very aggressive fan profile.

My temps are hitting a max of around 57c on the GPU, Hot Spot around 72C and memory around 92c in the time spy stress test and slightly less in other benchmarks and games (usually high 40's or low 50's on the GPU). Our house is well controlled temp/humidity wise but it's usually cooler in the winter so I'm concerned about summer temp impact and overclocking. I understand that mining can make the memory (GDDR6X) temps hit 110C and throttle.

I guess in short, the GPU temps are decent with this card in gaming applications... but I'm really worried about the memory temps if I were to overclock it or use it for part time mining. Are there options out there to improve cooling without voiding a warranty or installing an aftermarket water block? I've done a fair bit of looking online but I'm late to the party it seems... I imagine there are more definitive options now than there were 6+ months ago.

Thanks for the advice!

Your temps are fine by and large. The memory hotspot temps are due to their being memory modules on the back side of the card that really have no active cooling other than the backplate itself. Though 92C is also fine and somewhat expected normal hot spot temps for a 3090. You can install a full custom waterblock if you wish and it will not void the warranty just make sure you keep the hybrid cooler itself as you will need to reinstall it should you ever need to RMA it as the card must be returned back to factory spec in the event of an RMA. Having said that unless you go with a custom waterblock that also has an active backplate cooler your memory hotspot temps will be pretty much the same as they are now.
