Whilst I was troubleshooting another issues with PX1, I notice that with PX1 running I see very cyclical spikes in the CPU utilization, clock speed and temperature.  See the attached images that were taken when at idle/general task (web browsing etc).  Can't attach images or hyperlinks
Closing PX1 eliminates the spikes, CPU usage is 1 or 2%, where I would see spikes up to ~10% running PX1.
I see associated fluctuations in the CPU cooler fan speed too, which probably isn't good for it in the long run.

Can anyone else verify this behavior?

Not seeing this on Win11/3070Ti FTW3 Ultra.

Which version of PX1 are you running?

Always the latest. In this case, 1.3.0.0.

I have this issue as well with the latest version of X1. Using task manager I can see that it's causing Windows Security (previously known as Windows Defender) to pretty much stay at 5% CPU usage with frequent spikes to ~10% every 2-3 seconds. Specifically, the "Antimalware Service Executable". My total CPU usage when idle constantly spikes from 1-2% to 24% every 3-4 seconds.

If I completely close X1 this CPU usage behavior goes away completely. And of course if I uninstall X1 it goes away as well. Don't have this problem with Afterburner, with Afterburner installed my idle CPU usage stays at its normal ~2-3% without any spikes.

I've tried adding the Precision X1 install directory to Windows Security's exclusion list but that makes no difference.

I swear every time I try to give X1 another try it's always something. First it was the RGB resetting on reboot randomly but that thankfully was fixed, but now this. Oh well, now that I got my hands on a hybrid cooling upgrade kit for my 3080 FTW3 Ultra, it's not like I really need X1 for ARGB control since the hybrid cooler has a much smaller, simpler ARGB lighting system. Plus I'm happy with the default fan control, and if I wasn't I can set custom fan curves in Afterburner also.

Running Windows 11 Pro with the latest updates installed (did a clean installation of Win 11 as well not an upgrade from 10).

Just wanted to add that I did a bit more testing and found out this only happens when the OSD is turned on, or in other words whenever X1 server is running for the OSD. As soon as I turned that off the CPU spikes stopped.
