Hello,

I just received my RTX 3090 card from EVGA store and didn't have got the guts to install it yet.
When I inspected it I turned very worried about this thermal placement, it seems it slipped and maybe created a gap between some components and the radiator (see images)
I don't know if I'm being too cautious or worried or if it's a really problematic thermal pad.
I would gladly hear your opinion on that.

thanks a lot.

Its not a thermal pad...its thermal putty that has over spilled when the stock cooler installed....not a lot of heat generated on those components, you will be fine....in one of the pics looks like there is still a thin layer of putty....the Cards all kind of look like rthis due to the putty...no biggie...enjoy your new card !

Since you aren't sharing photos with us, it's hard to provide an educated opinion, but on the surface, an RMA seems like an extreme solution for something which is likely normal and likely the same on the next card you receive.
Thermal putty squeezes out in a flat plate of excess, and if that is what you are seeing, that is very normal.

I saw the pics before they disappeared......was just thermal putty and the angle of the picture...maybe a small gap....no biggie.....when I took my air cooler off for my WB the thermal putty is a bit of a hodge podge on the components....but no real heat generated...I certainly wouldnt have RMA'd the Card for that......
    .....but to each there own...
