I was lucky enough to win the Newegg Shuffle and get ahold of a new 12900k processor, but thanks to awesome scalpers, pretty much impossible to get current DDR5, (charging $2k at a minimum on ebay for $350 worth of DDR5 memory). I need to get a new motherboard ordered ASAP to use this thing, and I'd like for it to be EVGA to go with my 3080ti FTW3 UG. So yeah, anyone know of any DDR4 boards coming out soon for 12th gen intel LGA 1700?

here's an idea, spread it far and wide:

Tell people to stop buying from scalpers.

Let them eat the product...they'll stop buying it up...

Too bad you either won't spread it, or won't stop buying from scalpers.

    AMD Ryzen 7900x3d
    Deepcool LT720
Gigabyte Aorus Elite AX X670 (Might change..don't like this board)
eVGA GeForce RTX 3090 FTW3 Ultra Gaming (Hybrid kit on it)
Asus ROG Swift PG43UQ 4k Monitor
    eVGA 1600W Supernova T2 PSU
    32GB Kingston 6000 DDR5 (2x16GB) Fury
    Corsair MP600 Pro 2TB (Boot)
    Corsair MP600 2TB (Games/Data)
    Phanteks P500A Case

More DDR5 will be out. If you’re upgrading to 12th gen better to buy what you can while you can or you’ll have to settle for DDR4. By the time ram is in stock, the CPU or MB won’t be.
Just place holds at park very store that lets you and just hope you get lucky.

They haven't said anything regarding an EVGA DDR4 board, however there are many other brands boards that are readily available with DDR4 support.

You need to be resourceful and search to buy DDR5 currently, or wait for your local retailers to restock.

I'm unsure if I made it sound like I was supporting the scalpers or what, but I'm not. That's why I'm looking for DDR4 because I refuse to support those scumbags. Guess I'll just buy an MSI then.

If you have the funds available, order a cheaper Z690 DDR4 board to use in the interim - quite a lot of DDR4 Z690 boards available for $200-$300. I intend to move to EVGA Z690 (DDR5), but clearly scalpers are targeting DDR5 so I could be waiting a while to get to use it.

That's basically what I did. Picked up a quality DDR4 for around $300 from MSI, and I guess I'll wait on the rest. I can be patient, but silly to sit here and let my warranty expire with this new processor sitting in the box. May as well actually use it!

No plans for a DDR4 Z690 board at this time.  Only DDR5 support.

Would love to see this happen as well.  I have 64GB DDR4-3600 CAS 14, paid under $400 for it.  The equivalent DDR5 would cost ~$700-800 MSRP, never mind the aftermarket BS going on right now.  Extra $400 isn't worth the performance gains.

There's definitely a demand for higher-end Z690 boards with DDR4.  The Strix board isn't bad, but only comes in white.  Please make it happen!

+1 .......lots of DDR5 available now....check MemoryC site!
I would expect all the fleabag scalpers will have there prices down to retail now in order to offload it.
They will eat there 4800 - 5200 DDR5 as no one will want that speed now that 5600 - 6400 out there.

No matter how many people you tell not to buy from scalpers and why they shouldn't thousands of people will still do it because they want the product and can afford it at higher prices.  They don't want to wait and are willing to pay extra to get it within a few days isntea dof a few months or a year from now.  To them the ability to have and enjoy something now instead of waiting months or a year or more to get an item at MSRP is worth it.

I picked up a DDR4 z690 board in the interim but don't expect to upgrade the board for quite some time. I don't expect DDR5 to come down for a couple of years when prices may come down and stock actually becomes available more than just a few dimms every couple of weeks.

I wonder at that time if it's even worth upgrading to a ddr5 board or just wait a few more years and then get the latest cpu and board

There is quite a bit of DDR5 available now and to be quite honest its not priced much more than "high end" DDR4......

I was under the impression DDR5 is still A. hard to get but B. available if you try hard enough. You're probably not going to get what you really want nor in the time frame you're thinking but I bet if you try for a few weeks you'll be able to find what you need.

For the last 3 weeks I have been getting notifies constantly on my phone....today in fact there was drops at both MemoryC and Corsair.
MemoryC.com has it available almost daily.

As for getting what you want.....I had no issues getting my Corsair Dominator kit. Newegg Canada has had an abundance of GSkill kits available everyday for the last 2 weeks...all 5600 - 6000 Cl36.

Corsair had a drop on Dominator 6200 / Cl36 today.

    From Egg Canada
    https://www.newegg.ca/p/pl?N=100007610%20601396890
In the US just check out MemoryC.com if no luck on the Egg US or Corsair.com

Its nowhere as scarce now as it was 4-5 weeks ago...check out ebay, the scalpers are down to retail pricing ;)

Reasonably priced DD4 board equipped with an external clock enabling BCLK overclocking of non-K would be more than welcome i guess

So far EVGA has said no... sadly...
Honestly all the z690 DDR4 boards out there, ram compatibility wise/ease of use/less headaches the MSI MPG Z690 Edge WiFi DDR4 board. If you want more ram though since well B-Die is drying up on the DDR4 end, get a Good DDR5 board the fastest DDR5 you can get try to shoot for at least 64gb worth of it. Call it a day. The DDR4 Z690 boards if you want to really close the gap you need to pretty much buy B-Die 4000mhz+ 2x16 or 2x32 or now 2x64 If you can find the larger capacities in B-die pretty much past 16gb modules 4000mhz you probably won't find any in 2x32gb, or 2x64gb kits as B-Die production had been already stopped production and will never be made again. But if your experienced you can probably make any brand of ddr4 z690 board work for you. ASUS's you can get a custom bios from Shamino on overclock.net if the board does not support your kit of ram you purchased.
