Currently, I have a 3070Ti FTW in my PC purchased from Central Computers, and applied for a step-up to a 3080 FTW about 2 months ago. Who knows when or if I will get a 3080, 4000's series might be out by then. Also, I am about 50 mins out in que for another 3070Ti, and 6 weeks out for a 3080. If I take another 3070 ti, can I applied for another 3080? or should I skip the 3070Ti, and wait for the 3080 que instead? Only need one more gpu, as it is for my son's PC. He already has a 2080 Super, and that will go into a backup PC, once we get another card. THx!

If you used the EVGA 3070Ti FTW that you purchased from Central Computers for a step-up, then you can't step-up from another 3070Ti FTW.  Here is the information:

"EVGA Step-Up products are limited to one Step-Up per part number, per person, per household." (Source: https://www.evga.com/support/stepup/)

Hope this is helpful.

So, I cannot step up from two 3070Ti's, correct? or I cannot step-up to two 3080's? Their wording states step-up "are limited to one part number".

I did step up from a 2080s to a 3080FTW ultra.
Then later I was able to buy a 3070Ti. But when I looked, the 3080FTW was not an option for me to step up to.
The 3080Ti and the 3090 were still an option though.
So I do not know for sure if the 3080 is not an option for me because I already stepped up to one or because it is not an option for anyone at this point because of availability, or both.

My best guess is no you will not be able to step up to the 3080FTW.

Thanks for your experience. I guess I will have to contact customer service to find out which it is, or if it is both.

Honestly once you register your card and if you did it in 30 days what does step-up as available models there is a drop down menu. I was able to step-up from a 3070 Ultra to a 3080 FTW3 Ultra back in February.

As for the 40 series, sometime next year is all we know so far you only have 90 days to do a step-up, I missed the 3080 TI FTW3 Ultra's by I think 2-3 weeks maybe a little longer? I know it was close. None will be able to tell you trust me.

I started my step-up for the 3080FTW back in Oct 2020 and it took 9.5 months to get it done.
I bought the 3070Ti about 55 days ago so it is still in the 90 day window.
Was hoping the 3080super  would come out in time, not looking good though.

Re: A couple questions about step-up and que system. 2021/11/26 22:06:02 (permalink)
Just to clarify, I am already 2 months in a step-up for a 3080 from a 3070 Ti FTW, it is just a matter of when it will happen, and that might take several more months according to feedback in the forums. I wanted to know, since I am in que to purchased another 3070 Ti FTW soon, could I step up to another 3080. Evga states "EVGA Step-Up products are limited to one Step-Up per part number, per person, per household". So, does eVga mean I cannot step up to another 3080, then maybe 3080Ti, or I cannot step again at all since I started a step up with another 3070Ti FTW? If that is the case, I will just wait for the 3080 that I am in que for, which will take a little longer to happen. Either way, I will be waiting for two 3080's, one for my son, and one for myself.

Under https://www.evga.com/support/stepup/#FAQ

"Conditions to qualify for Step-up:

EVGA Step-Up products (e.g. the product you want to Step-Up to) are limited to one part number, per person, per household.
  • This means that if you (or someone in your household) Step-Up a registered product to an EVGA GeForce RTX 3080 FTW3 ULTRA (10G-P5-3897-KR), you may not Step-Up a second registered product to an EVGA GeForce RTX 3080 FTW3 ULTRA (10G-P5-3897-KR). However, if EVGA later offers a different GeForce RTX 3080 graphics card within your 90-day window, such as the EVGA GeForce RTX 3080 XC3 ULTRA (10G-P5-3885-KR), you may Step-Up to that product."
Hope that this clarifies it a little.
