Hi, can someone tell me if you can run this setup?  I have (3) G70 Samsung 4k (not 2k) monitors and can not run all at 144hz simulataneously (DP 1.4).  I can only run 2 and the other one blacks out.  However, I can run all three at 60hz at 4k or I can run (1) at 4k and the other (2) at 60hz.  Any thoughts on this?  I contacted Samsung support and they asked if the card can run all three monitors 4k at 144hz, I am not sure and I hope someone can answer it for me.

Thanks and Happy Thanksgiving.

It will run 3 2K no problem , 3 4 k I don't think so, but you can window max resolution 7680 x 2160 and see if it runs this way in surround

I'm not knowledgeable at all with your subject. However Google is my friend [somewhat].  Looking at the spec's of DP 1.4, it shows:

"DSC is a compression algorithm that reduces the size of the data stream by up to a 3:1 ratio.[22] Although not mathematically lossless, DSC meets the ISO 29170 standard for "visually lossless" compression in most images, which cannot be distinguished from uncompressed video.[25][26] Using DSC with HBR3 transmission rates, DisplayPort 1.4 can support 8K UHD (7680 × 4320) at 60 Hz or 4K UHD (3840 × 2160) at 120 Hz with 30 bit/px RGB color and HDR. 4K at 60 Hz 30 bit/px RGB/HDR can be achieved without the need for DSC. On displays which do not support DSC, the maximum limits are unchanged from DisplayPort 1.3 (4K 120 Hz, 5K 60 Hz, 8K 30 Hz).[27] "

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DisplayPort#1.4a

However you would think it would support your monitors. Looking at the GPU specs, it also states 4k 120hz, 8k 60hz, so it makes me wonder if that is the highest supported. I am wondering if you lower the refresh to 120hz, if that would make any difference?

Hopefully one of our truly knowledgeable member will give you info that really helps. Wish I was more helpful.

I have been running triple screens and at 7680x1440 @144 hz , all the new cards HAD a max resolution of this, they recently added it could run at 7680x2160 which is 2, 4k panels , I am pretty sure this is all any card will push. SO any bonus display i think will be locked at 60hz as it will only be a 2D display like if you wanted to run another 3rd party information screen as in iracing so you don't need to overlay it.

Let me first ask why you want to run 3 4K panels at 144Hz? Even a RTX 3090 doesn't have a hope in hell of pulling that off in really any game released in the last 5 or so years, not with playable framerates anyway. Is it just for the giggles or because you have the panels?

On a more technical side, the only port really capable of running 4K 144Hz is the HDMI 2.1 port well technically it's not even certified for that at only 4K 120Hz, the displayport 1.4 outputs just don't have the bandwidth to do it without DSC (Display Stream Compression) so the real answer is No, your card just can't do it. In fact no card can officially, we just aren't there yet.

    Well, I know Linus ran 4k at 144hz on a 3090  (11,520 x2,160), so I was wondering if the 3080 could.

Well yes he was but what I meant is that you are NOT going to be pushing 144fps in any games making 144Hz  refresh rate irrelevant. He was getting mid 40s fps in Cyberpunk and medium/low settings and 100ish FPS in medum high settings in Star Wars Squadrons and 50ish FPS in Dirt 5. The point I was making is that even if you could run them at 144Hz there isn't a card on the market that can drive it at that in any reasonably modern games.

It is probably something to do with your monitors not properly working with DSC or your displayport cables not actually meeting spec for the bandwidth they need to carry to run it.

I am Running at 7680x1440 @ 144 hz with a kingpin 3090 and I started with  a 3080FTW3 and was turning off many settings to get expectable FPS
3x 4 k above the max resolution according to the spec sheet, so the answer is no, but your card is doing what it was designed to do

I just want to run 3 4k monitors at 60 - I am glad this is possible if I can ever get a 3080! Would it be possible to run the 3 4ks at 100hz? I have never run anything higher than 60hz.
