Specs are in my Sig and pics in my Mod Rig Link.

Ok, Been years since I did anything with my set up.
New Battlefield game coming out and I want to play. Been busy in life investing and building retirement I finally have some time to sit down and play again.
But, I don't think the current girls got it in her. I know I definitely need a new GPU.
Since I been out of the game for so long, even though I have built 4 rigs in the past, I forgot all the tech stuff and kinda hoping someone would advise me if my current set up has upgrade capabilities or should I scrap it for porn use and build again? hehe
Sad part is I don't think I got it in me to learn all the ins and outs again to build a rig again. If I have to build again, I may just buy all the parts and pay someone to build it for me.
Thoughts?

PS, pic shows 580gtx. but actually now there is a 960GTX 3gb

Thanks guys/gals

UNfortunately, about the only way to get a new gpu for a new build is to buy an entire system from OEM prebuilts...
Otherwise you are stuck in a que waiting in line, that will span months to a year , ..or resorting to buying them from an EBAY scalper for over 2x times retail costs....just for the cards.

That is the sad truth of things for over the past year now in videocard land.

I have a few good quality companies many people recommend that do reviews on such things --

There is no 960GTX 3GB, did you mean GTX 1060 3GB? If you have a GTX 1060 3GB, you should be able to actually play the game on low settings. If however you mean a GTX 960 (they came in 2 and 4GB variants not 3) then you may be a bit out of luck but the game should still actually run though I wouldn't really recommend it.

As for your system, yeah it's a wash at this point. Not really anything in there worth saving as it's all about a decade old at this point. However as said above, we are currently in the biggest GPU shortage the PC industry has ever seen. Cards that should sell for $300-400 are selling for $800+ it's madness. Your only real chance at getting a GPU is to win the Newegg shuffle (weekdays starting at 11am EST) or pay a scalper. You can't even enter the queues for cards anymore as they are millions of people long and they have stopped taking new requests till they catch up.

You may be able to get a pre-build system that will be marked up (though not as bad as scalers usually ask) but even then they have waiting lists to get them. For you though, that's probably your best bet as you need a whole new system from the ground up anyway. Just do your homework and don't get fleeced on a system with something like a GTX 1650 in it.

I would say to start with the GPU. If you can find that then it makes sense to do a build now but if you can't find the GPU then the build becomes a moot point if the goal is to play Battlefield.

My bad, not sure how I missed that. Its 4gb gpu.
I'm not into overpaying for anything. So I guess I'll just play Back4blood and use my PS5 more. Thanks for the input guys!
