So yeah, trying to get a card. And yeah, the only tool i have to fight the scalpers is to run my own stock scanner and run to my PC when the B stock drop hits. ALMOST got a 3080 2 weeks ago that way, got all the way to final payment before it got OOS. 
 
But now I'm IP banned. I guess for running a scanner, the only tool i have to fight back since I only got in queue this summer. 
My buddy just refreshed the page manually 3 times in a minute and got ip banned too. 
 
This is not the way EVGA. You are hurting us too..

Except how will I, not a bot, know when B stock cards have been made available? Ip bans will just push bot users to proxy / VPN around it. How about all b stock be elite members only or have global order limits instead? Many options that don't harm one-offs like me. 

No one is offering a solution where I can get notified of a b stock drop without resorting to a scanner. This change creates more issues than it solves, because again bots will work around it anyway. 
 
And I've offered other solutions no one is dismissing. 

For those harping on me for using a scanner, you are failing to empathize my situation. So I'll try my best to explain. 
 
Me, a very casual gamer decides it time to upgrade in the middle of 2021. My old trusty EVGA 1050 ti gets me elite status, cool i guess? Don't know what that does for me now. This queue thing looks dauting though. More than a year out! O but weekly b stock offer is tempting. But it's never at the same time / day and only lasts minutes. How do i know when it's available? Some Googling and i see posts about this handy plugin that will ring a bell and text me when it sees changes to a website. Good deal. What other option do I have?
 
Been doing it for more than a month and it's almost worked. I had a 3080 through to final checkout because was close to the computer when my scanner dinged. Got 404 after hitting final submit though. 

Again, got it. Scalpers bad. But what would you have had me do instead? EVGA should gatekeep B stock behind it's own queue / elite status / global order limit too. That's my point. Ip banning won't even stop all the bots anyway. 

Yeah, it does suck to get an IP ban, but combating bots is a major issue.
 
Look at it this way, a scanner/scraper likely looks identical to the site as a bot. Realistically, if they allow bots to run rampant most of the cards are going to go to bots.

To me this a false platitude because what chance do I have if I never know when B stock will be added? Please tell me what i should do to know that (and thus have a chance). I'm strongly suggesting EVGA send out emails to warn elite users of upcoming B stock additions as an alternative. Are there any nays against that?

To what? Do you know what the limits are? I mean if people are getting banned for 3 times manually refreshing a page ( a likely behavior due to the nature of stock being added unannounced) it seems it's a pretty aggressive filter that was just added. 
 

I can find out the limitations but you would still use a scanner and adjust the parameters.  As other bots would.  B stock is usually added on Wednesdays.

I'd rather pitch to EVGA to approach b stock another way. I *don't like* having to run a scanner. i just don't see other options. Hell just send out subscription notices to elite members that b stock is "in bound in 1 hour today" and leave the aggressive ip ban filter. Well, maybe make sure users just refreshing don't get hit.

Patience is the key here. 

You have to grab an item when it appears. For b-stock there is no advance warning of incoming stock.
