AnsweredZ270 FTW – K not detecting my new 9900k please assist

For the porpouse of installing and testing Windows 11 I decided to sell my old 7770K and get a new 9900k (since they are both socket 1151) in order to extend the life cycle of all the rest of the hardware that so far worked good.
 
After removing the old and installing the new I have been getting a Red C in the panel, according to the manual it is cpu related, I have the latest published bios and should work, but it doesnt. Please help as soon as possible.
 
I made arrangements to send my old one to the buyer and I dont want to stay "offline" long

    Yes both CPU are FCLGA1151 - However - I am not seeing your 9900K listed as supported, Last Supported Kaby Lake listed is 7700K

    Wow thank you so much for your fast reply and explanation.
     
    I find this whole thing bull (removed) from Intel´s side, because the motherboards are clearly capable of supporting it, I was so sure about the right socket that I didnt thought about this. Theres a video of a youtuber using a 9900k on a Z170 (from another manufacturer with a custom mod), in my head it also made sense.
     
    I´m going to have to call off the sale and return the new one to Amazon, im pissed (not at you of course, I dont believe im "shoot the messenger" kind of stuff)

    Might be possible with a modified bios, but even if it worked it would not give you the same performance as that of a board designed to run a 9900k.
