I had a 2080ti that a fan went bad on. Locally someone said they could fix it for about $100. Another friend said if I purchased the fan I he would replace it for me free of charge.'
"Luckily" my card was still under warranty. I setup the advanced RMA and when I opened the box I did not have a 2080ti.
I was sent a 3070, a card that while close in performance, does not match a 2080ti. I was told the 2080ti's were out of stock. Eventually I was told when they come in I could swap out for that.
2080ti came in and I had some health issues and was not around a computer. When i got back the cards were no longer available
EVGA's most recent response is "Here is our internal testing that shows that the 3070 is only 100 points away which is also the closest performance equivalent, there is no negotiation on what the replacement will be if we do not have a 2080ti on hand when your card comes in for replacement.
Regards,
EVGA "
The main point of this is to warn other users to find out what product EVGA is going to send you BEFORE proceeding with the process. My 2080 ti was a 2 fan card because that was all that would fit in my case at the time. I have since upgraded so luckily the 3 fan 3070 fits. I imagine other users may receive a card that does not fit for them as well. If you find out EVGA plans to send you something of lesser performance, than you can look at options to have your current part repaired.
I'm sad I have to even make this post. Times are tough right now for everyone and EVGA could have done better for their customer.
