Note: I saw that this had dropped within about 10 minutes of it happening by following @TEAMEVGA and @EVGA_JacobF on Twitter and turning on notifications on my phone. I barely use Twitter outside of this and these are the only notifications I have turned on from it, but it has been very helpful for these surprise drops. They had quite a lot of the same feedback from the Z590 Dark drop as it was also a surprise that happened during an event-week they were running, so I'm surprised they did it again. For some of the doubters, it was confirmed by multiple people (which you can check for a couple more hours by logging out of your account and going to the product page) that it is indeed an Elite-only 24-hour window. So it wasn't open to everyone, just the vast quantity of EVGA customers who are "Elite" lol. If you are looking for the next x570 board that Lee teased us about (because there's been no official announcement of it), I would suggest you look into the twitter notifications.

I definitely share in the salt about the announcement. I got lucky and checked Twitter ~30 minutes after the announcement, so my time isn't the worst. I had been checking Twitter almost daily looking for a launch date, and had it in my mind to wake up at launch and F5 like a madman. But you know they have other plans, I just hope it isn't a dead queue like the Kingpin HC.

Not sure if it will roll out in a similar way, but for the z590 Dark, they had a small first wave of them at launch, then after about 2 months had one big drop that within a few days of notifies going out had covered the whole queue. Those are now in stock and can be added to your cart at your leisure. 

In two months we will probably have next gen intel released, which will cause the "Extreme OC" selling point to be moot, in my opinion. Its harsh. but very few people are going to want to spend $700 usd on a "Outdated" platform. I say outdated very lightly here, as ryzen 3000 and 5000 is a very very good platform that will last quite a while, but for the extreme overclockers, it will be outdated.

After seeing how long it took to release z590 boards, I would be shocked if they have z690 boards at the CPU launch. It could happen...but I'd be seriously surprised. Also, Lisa Su teased us with 5000x series CPUs that had 3D-Vcache on them. I'd be surprised if those release on a different platform than x570 and I'd bet that they get released around January time-frame or maybe even sooner to compete with Intel 12900k. Of course, this is just me making some guesses based on leaks and rumors, so I could be wrong, but there might still be some life left in this series. I do wonder about the price-point and competitiveness of whatever other x570 board EVGA is going to launch. There are a ton of boards on the market in that segment (assuming it is a FTW board), and it seems like it would be hard for them to break into that as the mass consumers will be waiting at this point to get a 12th gen intel or zen4 later in 2022. It would make sense if the x570 FTW was more affordable (especially considering the likely high DDR5 pricing), so maybe they'll keep it more affordable...or maybe they'll just keep in line with the current tech market of "everything sells". I guess we'll have to wait and see.

It would be cool to see an update to ryzen 5000, but I'm not very hopeful of that. I would definitely like to be wrong though. From what I've seen both Intel and AMD are looking to go to new sockets next gen, barring the 5k refresh. I share the sentiment about waiting for 12th gen, I've been eying intels tec technology(software), and would really like to try it out, but the performance upgrade from 5k to 11th wasn't enough for me to move platforms for the tec. I do really want one though lol.

As for the ftw3 board, as long as they get it out soon I wouldnt be opposed to purchasing that, as I'm really looking for 4 slot spacing, I just don't like the other options on the market at the moment. and would like to support Evga, as they've been really solid through the whole shortage. I have a 3 slot pny bridge, but its not the same as the 4 slot Evga bridge I have sitting in the box lol.

 
I am likely going to really buy this is I get the email.  Why?  Because my 2 year old ASUS Crosshair VIII Formula X570 took 2 years to stabilize.  Also.. I am just plain tired of the Armory Crate issues...
