So…… a few weeks ago I broke off my aio pump header during disassembly to change thermal pads and repairs the card.

I’ve already bought a FE cooling shroud and got the card back together in my SFF rig I’m building. But I wanna see if I can flash the bios to a FE bios so I can get the single fan working properly again. Right now I just had to set the fan to 85% in precision x1. But I was just wondering if it’s possible to put the FE bios on this card so the stock fan curve will work without precision x1 running in the background. Any advice would be handy!

Shouldn’t be a problem with nvflash.

Was able to successful flash to the EVGA Reference 1080ti FE Bios, but I still see Fan 1 and Fan 2 in Precision X1. Whats weird is I didnt think the FE cards from Nvidia came with ICX. And ICX temps still show up in my Precision X1 screen

Wonder if this is just a hardware thing that I'm just going to have to deal with.

Unless its possible to put the bone standard Nvidia 1080tiFE Bios on this thing? EVGA FE isnt listed as a card that used the stock NVIDIA Bios. It almost like there should be a way to swap Fan 2 as the primary cooling source. That would solve all my issues... lol.

Putting the nvidia fe vbios on the card isn’t going to get rid of the icx sensors as they are hardware. The vbios doesn’t control the icx sensors the mcu firmware does.

would the nvidia FE bios get rid of the Extra fan for the AIO pump that i see in Precision X1? Because with the EVGA FE bios I have on it now, the FE Blower fan will not operate unless i manually set the RPM Percentage in Precision X1

I doubt it as the fe from evga is the same as the fe from nvidia. The fe from evga is just in evga packaging.

Okay, so sounds like the only thing that would be possible is to make the FE Cooling fan, Fan 1.... which unless im missing something, seems not possible.

K I figured out how to do it. If I max out Fan 1's curve in Precision to 100% right across the board, it seems like it then defaults to using Fan 2 ( the FE fan) as the primary fan for cooling.
