Hey all - I have an X99 Classified board that I am considering using for an ESXi server build.  Few questions - does the X99 Classified support any Xeon CPUs or ECC memory?  Also, what is the max memory supported by the motherboard?  I see it mentions 64GB but I am not sure if that's an out-dated specification or not.

Thanks!

Thanks - will it support 128GB of RAM?

I did see one or two listed on the link I gave you http://www.evga.com/support/motherboard/

I am using X99 Classified with 128GB. Yes it does support that much memory but no ECC.

I can confirm that the EVGA x99 Classified (Model 151-HE-E999) can support 256gb of ram with 8 32gb sticks of ram if you have a Xeon processor capable of supporting it (Even though this motherboard claims to max out at 128gb of RAM and only with the proper processor). I have a Xeon E5-2697-v3. The BIOS doesn't show the individual DIMM sizes (as it appears to visually max out at 16gb) but it shows the full 256gb (as a total amount of ram) in the BIOS and works just fine with it. I have not confirmed other RAM amounts above 256gb.  Though I am curious, people say it doesn't "support" ECC, but I think the real question is, will it BOOT with or at least USE ECC RAM as if it was normal RAM?  I'm not using ECC.

With 256GB of ram you're putting a lot of stress on the memory controller so whatever you do please do not overclock the memory.

ECC ram is not 'officially' supported I believe.

Odd timing, I was looking around for chip information for the mX99 earlier tonight.  Aside from the spec sheet listed above, also found this little gem that may be of help for someone else looking.
