My PC keeps hard locking and I've been through every troubleshooting step I can think of. I think the mobo is just about to die. So maybe that's a sign it's time to upgrade from my 5 year old hardware, yay.... Oh no.

I knew there was a problem with getting chips out there especially with cars but wow. Haven't really kept up with how crazy it is just to get a new graphics card. People lining up around Best Buys a whole day before they might get a shipment? I am thankful I'm not that hard up

Can you list your specs? What motherboard, PSU, etc (pref in your signature like mine) so people can try to trouble shoot with you?

If you put it in your sig, you never have to type it out again

Thanks for the offers of help but I have tried everything, except swapping out the EVGA 1000 G2 I have ironically. Maybe I trust that a bit too much?

I've tried different memory in different slots, different GPU, bumping up voltages even though nothing's overclocked, blowing a fan directly on the VRM heatsinks, removing all peripherals besides keyboard/mouse, upgrading the BIOS (locked midway the first time but I was able to recover) and it locks in different OSs. It's on life support. Sometimes I can play a game for an hour but it will randomly lock up without BSOD. The mobo was already a bit of a basket case as it didn't run in a case (with plenty of clearance) so I've been running it on an open test bench until it started locking up a week ago.

Could be something as simple as a bad cable or a troublesome connector.
Cleaning connections with some alcohol and q-tips or a soft cloth can do wonders for connectivity.

Could be a bad drive. I had a failing platter drive cause issues like that. I wasn't even utilizing it, so I removed it and the problems went away.
