fixing to swap out motherboards. ill be using one 4.0 gen 4 for boot drive and a 3.0 for second drive storage. im planning on some games on boot and some on second so if i use geforce experience to launch a game and i use msi afterburner do i need them on both drives because thats the drive im using at that time.
You will only need to install Afterburner and Geforce Experience on one SSD. I would recommend installing them on your main, Gen 4 SSD (Windows boot drive) due to the fast read/write speeds. When you run out of room, you can always install games on a secondary SSD. You can change the install path for that and other games in the Steam settings, or any other game launcher for that matter. When you go to install a game on the second SSD, always look for something like “options”, or “Custom” as you will then have a choice on which drive to install the game on by simply changing the drive letter (For example) from C:Program Files/x86/Steam to D:Program Files/x86/Steam. Many launchers even allow you to move a game, automatically from one drive to the other. Have any other questions I’ll be happy to help ya!
