I recently had some issues from overheating , crashing, artifacts etc… i changed thermal paste but had some issues with the pads. After searching online it would seem that the pads should be 1mm but after installing the pads i saw that they are not making contact with the back plate the ones near the gpu core were pretty close . The outer ones were way off. I ended up putting double pads since i threw the olds ones and did not have a different size. The problem now is that i see a bend all around the gpu core. Outer ones are fine. I leads me to think the inner ones are 1.5mm and the outer ones are 2.0mm. These pads were really expensive and this process was neeve racking and tome consuming (not my kind of fun). Is there a way to know for sure about the thickness i need before i order a new batch and open my card for the third time? Im providing a picture of the old pads for reference

Since everything is 95% working i'm not going to open the thing up again and reapplying pads
it means buying new ones and making up for the bend that was created
so i think even if i get the right ones they won't be right after the pcb has bent this was
i'm hoping this card will hold since i've seen much worse cases of bent cards and they work fine.

    update: New issues...
What happens now is that i get black screen and the entire system hangs. i can still hear the sounds of the game. it can happens 2-3 times a day
or none at all but i usually get these crashes if i use my computer before and not opening it specifically for gaming
. i crancked up the fans of my case and turn the ac but it seems these crashes cannot be stopped.
a new phenomenon is getting really bad fps single digit type of lag. but this can be sorted out with a game restart.
there is no option to underclock this card on evga precision or afterburner.
should i call it quits and buy an overpriced 3060ti?
