Hi,

I see that  does not list any 11th gen CPUs as compatible. Neither does pc parts picker.
Is it not recommended to use the 11th gen CPUs in z490?

Thank you,

The Rocket Lake CPU line was given compatibility with BIOS update 2.00 on the FTW WIFI board and 2.01 on the Dark Kingpin edition. The 11th gen processors are not listed because we haven't personally tested these CPUs. It is likely not listed on pcpartspicker because the board does not natively support the CPU line.

Vince has been steady working on the X570, or at least his posts show as such. I feel the 11th gen should work with the Z490 series but Intel is getting really funny and real proprietary these days for some odd reason. I doubt Vince/Tin would not want Intel's new gen 11, 12 to work with older Dark series boards. Especially since there are some good contenders in those series. I personally decided to go AMD all the way after the disappointment of the 10900k compared to the the 9900k and the 8086k I had before (expensive I7 8700k)

I guess it depends on if you have the Z490 or if you are looking to buy. If you are going 11th Gen then you get the PCIe 4.0 by going with the Z590 which is more of the focus of that board is to be used with the 11th Gen. I was waiting for the Z590 but ended up going with the Z490 since I had a 10th gen CPU.
