Hey everyone,

Hoping someone has the info I'm hoping for. So in my infinite wisdom I ran my BIOS update from Windows and got welcomed by 4 beeps on boot with code 98 showing on my debug screen. Pretty sure last time I updated my BIOS it was done through the BIOS screen, not sure why I did it through Windows this time, any way.
*Forgot to mention, I was installing BIOS version 2.06. My previous version I believe was 2.02 or 2.03.

Code 98 is "Console input devices connect"

Getting stymied by a couple of things.
First, my motherboard is an Z170 FTW (140-SSE177). I cannot for the life of me figure out where the GD serial number is on this motherboard. I've pulled my video card out, RAM, taken the CPU fan out and don't see any stickers that have the SN number on it. Any know where it should be? My box got turfed six years ago. Register my product without the serial number, so I can't submit a ticket.

Second I keep seeing conflicting information about whether or not the Z170 FTW has a dual BIOS setup or any method for recovery from a bad BIOS update. Can anyone confirm or deny if the Z170 has a way to recover?
I was just running with default settings, no overclocking at all.

You’ll need to call evga on the phone, and have them send you a replacement bios chip.

I was looking at the BIOS chip, does it need to be soldered on or is it a push on type?

I have Z170 Classy K and it has a BIOS Switch. It is located just next to Power Supply Cable connecter on the same side as the SATA ports.

Gonna push my hope a smidge further. Does anyone know what area of the motherboard the sticker with the Serial Number should be? I've striped all my components off of the board and still can't locate the bloody thing and I'm about ready to pull it out completely to check the back.
Out of all the desktop motherboards I've handled, I've never seen one on the back but GD its no where on the front

Would anyone happen to have an email address for their tech support? I can't get through the phone due to not being able to find the SN sticker on my motherboard.

Cancel my last, got thinking that Amazon usually has a record of motherboards they've sold, did a chat session with Newegg and even though they don't list it on the invoice, their customer services reps can look that up on their end.
    thank you guys
